“Macao Week in Hangzhou” fully radiates Macao’s dynamic as a healthy destination “Tourism+” colorful dimensions attract visitors to Macao
The “Macao Week in Hangzhou” was staged smoothly for four consecutive days (26 – 29 March), actively spotlighting Macao as a healthy, safe and quality destination to attract Mainland visitors for travel and spending in Macao. Held at Hubin Pedestrian Street in Hangzhou, the mega roadshow showcased the city’s diverse offer of travel experiences, commercial opportunities and colorful dimensions of “tourism+”. The event attracted residents and visitors in Hangzhou in tandem with extensive promotions via different channels including social media which aroused fervent interest of Mainland netizens towards the “Macao Week”.

Casino operators reminded to remain neutral and impartial with regard to Legislative Assembly Election
Gaming concessionaires and sub-concessionaires are required by law to remain neutral and impartial with regard to the Legislative Assembly Election. Employees of those companies also have that responsibility, while on duty.

“2021 hush! Summer Concerts” – Call for proposals of local products booth operators
The event “2021 hush! Summer Concerts”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), will be staged from 26 June to 11 July in various coastal performance sites. “Listen to hush! in the Tent” will be held at the Macau Science Centre Plaza on 10 and 11 July 2021, featuring a variety of pop music performances and nearly 100 booths with local products and gastronomic specialities. The call for proposals of booth operators is running from 1 to 30 April, and interested parties are welcome to apply.

Plastic tableware tested for extractable substances 30 samples from 15 places all satisfactory
Food delivery service is very common, to ensure the safety of takeaway plastic tableware used by food outlets, the Consumer Council and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) tested 30 samples of plastic tableware collected from 15 food outlets to test their contents of extractable substances. Transport and communications statistics for February 2021
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that licensed motor vehicles in Macao totalled 244,313 as at end-February 2021, up by 1.5% year-on-year. Light automobiles (111,606) and heavy motorcycles (103,171) grew by 1.8% and 3.2% year-on-year respectively. As vehicle registration services were suspended for a period in February last year, new registration of motor vehicles in February this year jumped by 110.3% year-on-year to 917, of which heavy motorcycles (445) and light automobiles (435) surged by 131.8% and 95.9% respectively. In the first two months of 2021, new registration of motor vehicles increased by 62.6% year-on-year to 2,194. Number of traffic accidents in February totalled 919, with 280 persons injured. In the first two months of 2021, there were 2,117 traffic accidents, which caused 676 injuries.

Opening of Pre-qualification Documents for Lot P Temporary and Home Swap Housing Project
Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) yesterday (29 March 2021) opened the pre-qualification documents for the construction of Temporary Housing and Home Swap units on Lot P. A total number of 12 pre-qualification documents were received, comprising two independent companies and 10 joint ventures, with a total of 28 companies involved. Those documents were basically accepted, with eight of the applications requiring supplementary documents.

External merchandise trade statistics for February 2021
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export amounted to MOP729 million in February 2021, down by 16.8% year-on-year. Value of re-exports (MOP638 million) declined by 21.0%, with that of Articles for casino and Garments falling by 87.4% and 74.7% respectively. Meanwhile, value of domestic exports (MOP91 million) grew by 30.9%, with that of Garments and Bread, pastry, cakes, biscuits & other bakers’ wares soaring by 295.4% and 279.9% respectively. Total merchandise import surged by 102.8% year-on-year to MOP7.76 billion, of which imports of Gold jewellery, Mobile phones and Handbags & wallets swelled by 640.5%, 528.8% and 417.7% respectively, but those of Other textile made-up articles and Articles for casino declined by 70.6% and 45.8% respectively. Merchandise trade deficit in February 2021 totalled MOP7.03 billion.

The registration period for the exchange of the Rat and Ox Zodiac banknotes and the 20th Anniversary of the Return to the Motherland of Macao banknotes terminating next Friday

The online registration period for the exchange of the Rat and Ox Zodiac banknotes and the previously issued 20th Anniversary of the Return to the Motherland of Macao banknotes will end at 6:00pm on 9 April 2021 (Friday). The Monetary Authority of Macao would like to remind those citizens who are interested in exchanging for the said banknotes to complete the registration process before the mentioned deadline.

IPIM Leads Macao Enterprises to Participate in the ‘Macao Week in Hangzhou’ to Foster Trade, Economic Exchange and Collaboration between the Two Regions
To facilitate the ‘tourism + MICE’ integration and give play to its synergistic effects, the Macao SAR Government held the ‘Macao Week in Hangzhou’ roadshow for four consecutive days, which displayed information about the features of Macao’s tourism, commerce and trade, culture and gastronomy. During the event, a Macao tourism and MICE presentation seminar and a business matching session for Hangzhou and Macao entrepreneurs were organised to promote Macao as a healthy and safe travel destination, and to foster exchange and collaboration in business and trade between the two regions.
