Results of transport, storage & communications survey 2020
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that there were 3,422 establishments operating in the Transport, Storage & Communications Sector in 2020, an increase of 58 year-on-year; meanwhile, total number of persons engaged went down by 2,080 to 21,714. Receipts and expenditure of the sector amounted to MOP 16.94 billion and MOP 15.62 billion respectively, representing decreases of 48.0% and 40.6% year-on-year. Gross Surplus totalled MOP 1.28 billion, a shrinkage of 79.4% year-on-year. Gross Value Added that measures the sectoral contribution to the economy fell by 48.4% year-on-year to MOP 6.10 billion, and Gross Fixed Capital Formation slid by 58.3% to MOP 798 million.

Starting from today, anyone previously infected with COVID-19 who intends to fly into Macao must have a certificate of recovery proving at least two months have passed since onset of the disease, or since they first tested ‘positive’ for the virus.

Indoor facilities managed by IAM to reopen next Monday
As the situation of the pandemic in Macao has gradually stabilised, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will reopen the community facilities under its management, such as activity centres, indoor facilities and venues, for public use on October 25. Interest classes, food safety training courses, application for rental of venue by groups, etc. will also be resumed. IAM will also continue to strengthen cleaning and consistently comply with the relevant disease prevention measures of the health department, so as to safeguard public hygiene and safety.

Applications to exhibit at the Macao Creative Pavilion in the Xiamen Cultural Industries Fair are open
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will coordinate the participation of a delegation of Macao’s cultural and creative industries in the 14th Cross-Strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair (hereinafter referred to as “CCCIF”) and will on that occasion set up the “Macao Creative Pavilion” to promote Macao’s cultural and creative products and services and the development and exchange of the cultural and creative industries between Fujian, Macao, and both sides of the Strait. Applications for the participation of the cultural sector local associations in the exhibition are open from 25 October to 7 November. Local cultural and creative organisations are welcome to submit applications.
