MPI Published a New Issue of Journal of One Country Two Systems Studies

Macao Polytechnic Institute has published the new issue of the Journal of One Country Two Systems Studies (Issue 1, 2021). First printed in July 2009, this academic periodical is published by the “One Country, Two Systems” Research Centre of MPI, with the objective to give the public an insight into the “One Country, Two Systems” policy, promote research on topics related to governance and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, maintain the progress of the SAR society, and establish an academic platform for the study of “One Country, Two Systems”.

MGTO requires industry operators to rigorously carry out requirement of presentation of “Macao Health Code” for admission to public areas

In accordance with the latest turn of the pandemic situation in Guangdong Province, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government continues to update its measures against COVID-19. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has issued the latest version of “Prevention of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia – Recommendation to Require Presentation of ‘Macao Health Code’ for Admission to Public Areas”. To implement the measure of checking Macao Health Code presented by individuals upon admission, effective from tomorrow (9 June), individuals must present Macao Health Code upon admission to establishments under Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)’s supervision as follows: hotels and guest houses, restaurants, bars, karaoke lounges, night clubs, saunas, massage parlours and health clubs. Holders of Macao Health Code in Red or Yellow Colour will be denied admission to such establishments.


MGTO and IAM jointly organize seminar Raising awareness on food safety and environmental hygiene

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) jointly organized the “Seminar on Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene” – special session for merchants accredited by the Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme (QTSAS), to raise pertinent businesses’ concern about food safety as well as their awareness on prevention against COVID-19 and food safety among other related aspects, so that visitors can enjoy a safe travel experience in Macao.


People with ‘yellow’ or ‘red’ Macao’s health code barred from public transport and restaurants

People with either ‘yellow’ or ‘red’ status under the Macao Health Code system are for the time being denied use of public transport, including buses, taxis, and the city’s Light Rapid Transit (LRT) system.


Residential property price index for February – April 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for February - April 2021 increased by 0.9% over the previous period (January - March 2021) to 263.6. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (263.5) and Taipa & Coloane (263.9) rose by 1.1% and 0.2% respectively.


Art Macao returns and launches pre-events in June turning Macao into a great garden of artistic creativity

“Art Macao”, a mega international cultural and artistic event in Macao, will be held from July to October this year. Under the patronage of the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Cultureand the Secretariat for Economy and Finance, the event is organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Macao Government Tourism Office, and co-organized by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, with the participation of hotels and integrated resorts, various creative cities and local higher education institutions. Curated by Professor Qiu Zhijie, one of the most influential contemporary artists in China and Dean of the School of Experimental Art of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, “Art Macao” will continue to create an immersive cultural atmosphere with the entire city as a gallery and an art garden, bringing a variety of visual art experiences to residents and tourists.


List of selected projects of the “4th Support Programme for the Production of Feature Films” announced

The second review of the “4th Support Programme for the Production of Feature Films”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), has been completed and three beneficiaries and their film projects were selected: Long Day, Long Night by Lam Kin Kuan, At Least Not Today by Io Lou Ian and Be Ordinary by Choi Ian Sin. Each selected candidate will receive a subsidy of up to MOP2,000,000 and professional advice from veteran film professionals for the production and marketing of the selected feature film.


Consumer Council conducted specific price survey on 3 categories of products

The Consumer Council continues to conduct price survey on various kinds of products to enhance price transparency and survey result reveals price differences in different retail outlets. Consumers are suggested to use the data published by the Council for price comparison.
