Shanghai-Macao Business Matching Session Helps Companies Expand Cooperation Network
To strengthen the co-operation and exchange between companies from Shanghai and Macao, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade jointly held the Shanghai-Macao Business Matching Session at 10 am today (3 June), the first day of the “Macao Week in Shanghai”. Around 110 entrepreneurs from various sectors including trade, food/product wholesale and retail, e-commerce, tourism and hotels, attended the event. A total of 96 meetings were arranged during the session, covering topics such as wholesale of food souvenirs and wine, retail of high-quality goods, and food and beverage business co-operation, facilitating further the co-operation between companies from the two cities in expanding the market together.

Local View Power CCM premieres new urban visions
The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, premieres Local View Power’s new films from 10 to 13 June. The latest cinematic impressions on the city will be screened in thirteen eclectic films at the Small Auditorium from this coming Thursday through Sunday.

31st Macao Arts Festival concluded successfully
The 31st Macao Arts Festival (MAF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, has been concluded successfully. Themed “Restart”, this year’s Festival was held in the midst of the pandemic, thanks to the efforts of the participating arts and cultural groups, presenting 20 programmes and art exhibitions as well as outreach activities, in a total of nearly 100 sessions. The programmes were well received by the public, with the overall ticketing sales rate reaching nearly 99%.

UM students win first prize at MCM/ICM 2021
Two teams from the University of Macau (UM) recently won a first prize and a second prize, respectively, in the Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM) 2021 in the United States. The event was held concurrently with the Mathematical Contest in Modeling. 7 per cent of teams have won a first prize and 18 per cent of teams have won a second prize. UM is the only higher education institution in Macao to have won a first prize in this competition. The event attracted over 26,000 teams from around the world. Since its debut in the contests in 2015, the university has won more than ten awards.

Public required to produce green health code for entry into restaurants licensed by IAM starting from tomorrow
The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) makes timely adjustments to relevant pandemic prevention measures in view of the development of novel coronavirus pneumonia. Starting from tomorrow (June 9), the public is required to produce a valid green “Macao Health Code” for entry into the beverage establishments and the food and beverage establishments of Category 4 and Category 5 licensed and regulated by IAM, besides complying with the existing pandemic prevention measures. Individuals with red and yellow codes are not allowed to enter. Today IAM has informed the license holders of the venues and consumers of the relevant measure through SMS messages, distribution of posters, etc.

MPI Published a New Issue of Journal of One Country Two Systems Studies
Macao Polytechnic Institute has published the new issue of the Journal of One Country Two Systems Studies (Issue 1, 2021). First printed in July 2009, this academic periodical is published by the “One Country, Two Systems” Research Centre of MPI, with the objective to give the public an insight into the “One Country, Two Systems” policy, promote research on topics related to governance and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, maintain the progress of the SAR society, and establish an academic platform for the study of “One Country, Two Systems”.

MGTO requires industry operators to rigorously carry out requirement of presentation of “Macao Health Code” for admission to public areas

In accordance with the latest turn of the pandemic situation in Guangdong Province, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government continues to update its measures against COVID-19. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has issued the latest version of “Prevention of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia – Recommendation to Require Presentation of ‘Macao Health Code’ for Admission to Public Areas”. To implement the measure of checking Macao Health Code presented by individuals upon admission, effective from tomorrow (9 June), individuals must present Macao Health Code upon admission to establishments under Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)’s supervision as follows: hotels and guest houses, restaurants, bars, karaoke lounges, night clubs, saunas, massage parlours and health clubs. Holders of Macao Health Code in Red or Yellow Colour will be denied admission to such establishments.
