The Health Bureau has distributed 13.5 million RAT kits and 14.5 million masks

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre indicates that the BA.5 Omicron sub-variant, which is currently the dominant strain in Macao, is more transmissible and fast-spreading, well-hidden and replicates more effectively in the human body. Unlike the previous Omicron sub-variants, BA.5 can invade the lungs and evade immunity, resulting in an increased rate of severe illness.

UM’s COVID-19 research team provides suggestions for optimising anti-epidemic strategies of Macao

KN 95 masks provided by the Macao SAR Government conform to national standards
In response to the observation that the KN95 masks distributed by the Government are ineffective in preventing viruses, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre points out that the masks in question follow the technical requirements GB2626-2019, which are the national standards of the People's Republic of China governing KN95 masks. Masks certified with this standard can filter 95% or more particles, a higher filtration rate for fine particles as compared with surgical masks.
