Arrangements for eligible cross-border students to return to Zhuhai have been successfully completed
In order to assist cross-border students in Macao to return to Zhuhai, DSEDJ has coordinated and communicated with the relevant government departments of Macao and Zhuhai during the past few days. Some cross-border students and their parents decided to continue to stay in Macao. About 400 eligible cross-border students and the accompanying persons decided to return to Zhuhai. DSEDJ coordinated with the relevant departments of Zhuhai and Macao, worked with schools to jointly arrange for them to return to Zhuhai. They took vehicles from the hostels and schools to Zhuhai-Macao Port on 11 and 12 October. They entered the port in an orderly manner. Special lanes were opened for them and they went through customs smoothly. At present, they have taken nucleic acid testing and gone back to their home for home quarantine.

Cultural Affairs Bureau performs regular maintenance of its Online Book Shop from 20 to 22 October
Through a wide variety of books and periodicals on its platform, the Online Book Shop of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) facilitates local or overseas readers to select and purchase IC’s publications with ease, so as to promote reading. In order to provide more stable and convenient services, the Online Book Shop will undergo regular website maintenance from 20 to 22 October. During this period, the service will be suspended.

Schools and institutions can arrange the working place(s) of school staff reasonably in accordance with the guidelines on epidemic prevention and class suspension
The Education and Youth Development Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the “DSEDJ”) has always taken the health and safety of teachers and students into the utmost consideration when formulating and implementing various epidemic prevention work. In view of the recent epidemic changes in Macao, the DSEDJ has consulted and conducted an assessment with the health department. Considering the risks posed by clustering of students in schools, class suspension is implemented by schools of non-tertiary education, and in-person teaching in tertiary institutions is suspended. All students are engaged in home learning programme with diversified plans, including online classes.

October is a Contribution Month of the FSS, and the Contribution Deadline is Extended to 5th November
October is the contribution month for the Social Security System. In order to cope with the SAR Government’s epidemic prevention and control work, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) has extended the deadline for payment of contributions, and the employment fee for non-resident workers to 5th November (Friday). Employers, and beneficiaries of the arbitrary system are suggested to make more use of electronic channels to pay contributions, or use the appointment service to save waiting time in queuing.

Self-paid test also works for high-frequency NAT programme
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre states that, for people who are subject to the high-frequency nucleic acid testing programme, if they have taken a self-paid test for border-crossing purposes, the system will recognize it on its own and no separate test will be needed to fulfil the high-frequency testing requirements.

Paused recreational facilities allowed to reopen from 19 October
