Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations unfolded in BeijingMGTO participated in various activities to share Macao’s latest tourism situation

The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC), initiated by President Xi Jinping, was grandly unveiled in Beijing, the capital of China, on 15 May to showcase the latest cultural tourism trends in China and across Asia through themed exhibitions, tourism presentations, cultural performances, cultural tourism forums, product discussions and other highlights under the topic of “Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Asian Civilizations and a Community with a Shared Future”. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) attended the Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition, the Chinese Cultural Tourism Promotion Seminar and the Asian Food and Human Civilization Forum among other activities in Beijing on 16 and 17 May. The Office rode on the occasion to organize the “Travel Trade Dinner in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region” to enhance mutual exchange and share the latest tourism situation in Macao with members of the travel trade and the press in Beijing.



Private sector construction and real estate transactions for the 1st quarter of 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 1,850 building units and parking spaces were purchased and sold in the first quarter of 2019 as per Stamp Duty record, and the total value of transactions was MOP10.55 billion, down by 20.3% and 25.5% respectively quarter-to-quarter.

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, said his visit to Portugal illustrated the consistent progress of friendly relations between Macao and Portugal and noted those close ties were entering a new phase.


International banking statistics – March 2019

According to the statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the proportion of international business in the local banking sector rebounded in the first quarter of 2019. At end-March 2019, the share of international assets in total banking assets increased to 86.1% from 85.2% at end-December 2018, while the share of international liabilities in total banking liabilities rose to 82.0% from 81.1%.


Enforcement statistics show Macao is safe city, says Security Secretary

Police statistics relating to law enforcement for the first quarter of 2019 showed Macao to be a secure and safe city, said today the Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak.
