JAE to be postponed until mid-April
In response to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the Higher Education Bureau has reached consensus with the University of Macau, Macao Polytechnic Institute, Macao Institute for Tourism Studies, and Macau University of Science and Technology on the captioned matter. The Joint Admission Examination for Macao Four Higher Education Institutions (JAE) is now rescheduled to 16-19 April, to allow candidates sufficient time to make preparation. Meanwhile, the institutions reassure that infection prevention and control measures will be in place to ensure the safety and health of the exam candidates and personnel.

DSEJ WORKS HAND IN HAND WITH VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS TO DO A GOOD JOB IN FIGHTING THE EPIDEMIC
In response to the continued spread of the novel coronavirus epidemic in Macao, to protect the health of students, teachers and staffs, and cooperate with the Macao SAR government's overall epidemic prevention work, avoid crowd gathering, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau has announced that the date of class resumption of secondary and primary schools, kindergartens and special education schools, as well as the operation resumption dates of private tutorial centres and continuing education institutions will be postponed. The official resumption schedule for class resumption will be announced at least one week before the resumption.

Special arrangement for payment of radiocommunications fee
Due to the development of the novel coronavirus and the suspension of some services, CTT Macao will extend appropriately the due date for radiocommunications fee due and not yet paid during this period.

The Macao SAR Government is Ready to Help the Affected Students Return to Taiwan
The Taiwan region has suspended the entry of Hong Kong and Macao residents starting from today. The Higher Education Bureau is paying close attention to the Macao students who fail to resume classes in Taiwan on time, and has formulated a series of measures to reassure the affected students and their parents, including working with the Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) to coordinate the air ticket arrangements. At the same time, AACM will continue to communicate with the airlines concerned. Additional flights to Taiwan will be increased to enable students to continue their studies after the relevant suspension measures are cancelled.

DSES calls on affected students to register online ASAP
Taiwan region has announced to freeze the entry of Hong Kong and Macao residents as of 11 February 2020. In response to the measure and to make proper arrangements accordingly, the Higher Education Bureau (DSES) launched an online registration system at 7pm today (10th) to gain a better understanding of the number of affected students. As at 10pm tonight, there are 926 students registered. DSES calls on Macao students studying in Taiwan who have been affected to register as soon as possible.

The Higher Education Bureau Launches Online System to Collect Data on the Affected Students
The Taiwan region announced today (10th) at around 2 pm that entry restrictions on Hong Kong and Macao residents will be imposed from 11th February. The Higher Education Bureau has immediately launched the emergency mechanism, and contacted the related departments to cope with this situation together. Meanwhile, at 7 pm tonight, an online system was launched. Higher education students who are affected should visit the Bureau’s website to register in order to facilitate the Bureau to make appropriate arrangements.

In view of the social concerns about the “Joint Admission Examination for Macao Four Higher Education Institutions” (JAE), for better preparation of students, parents and schools, and for the safety of all candidates, the Higher Education Bureau, University of Macau, Macao Polytechnic Institute, Macao Institute for Tourism Studies and Macau University of Science and Technology have decided that the examination date for the JAE will be postponed, after carefully examined the situation. Specific arrangements will be announced in late February.

The objective of this call is to boost effective response of the Macao Special Administrative Region to the recent outbreak of the NCP.It is essential to strengthen the prevention and control to new and emerging infectious diseases with strong scientific and technological support for epidemic prevention and control.The FDCT hereby is calling for proposals in the thematic priority area of the NCP,which it is open to universities, research institutions, science and technology enterprises and scientific researchers.This call focuses on areas related to the NCP detection technology,the NCP disease prevention and drug development, prevention and control mechanisms against sudden infectious diseases and post-epidemic social recovery as well as other related research areas to the NCP.
