“The 7th Joint Meeting on Prevention and Suppression of Financial Crimes” organized by GIF
Despite the “New Normal” Lifestyle of the community due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, it has not deterred the determination of the Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) to cooperate with other law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies and different sectors in Macao to combat financial crimes. GIF is now in its fourth year after the establishment of the “Public Private Partnership” with the financial sector, and has been maintaining close communication with the sector. GIF organizes“Joint Meeting on Prevention and Suppression of Financial Crimes” to discuss preventive measures on anti-money laundering and combating financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) with financial institutions, so as to enhance the effectiveness of prevention and suppression of financial crimes.

Academic conference on Sino-EU relations held at UM
The Jean Monnet Chair (JMC) Academic Conference: ‘European Union-China Relations from the Perspective of Global Governance’, hosted by the Department of Government and Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau (UM), was held in the Ho Yin Conference Hall at the university. During the event, 17 scholars from universities in mainland China, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Macao had in-depth discussions on issues such as the governance of the European Union (EU), Sino-EU relations, and global governance.

IPIM Sets up Four Exhibition Areas for “Macao Week in Shanghai” Roadshow to Promote Macao Products and Services under the Theme of ‘Gift Box’
The “Macao Week in Shanghai” will deliver a mega roadshow Waitanyuan, Huangpu District in Shanghai from 3 (tomorrow) to 7 June. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has organised around 40 Made in Macao, Macao brands and Macao agents of products from Portuguese-speaking countries to participate in the event, where Macao will be promoted under the theme “gift box”.

IFTM Graduation Ceremony 2021
Today (2 June), the IFTM Graduation Ceremony 2021 was held at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. Ms. Ao Ieong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, presided over the ceremony, accompanied by Mr. Chan Chak Mo, Chair of the IFTM Council, and Dr. Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan, IFTM President. Immersed in cheers and applause, 416 IFTM students in diploma and degree programmes, including the first batch of master’s degree graduates, received their certificates and honourably became IFTM graduates. Representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR and the People’s Liberation Army Macao Garrison, members of the IFTM Council, members of the Legislative Assembly, government officials, school representatives, scholarship and fellowship providers, representatives from tourism and service industries, people from all walks of life, parents of graduates, and IFTM faculty were in attendance.

21st Macao City Fringe Festival calls for proposals for programmes and performance venues – new programme category ‘New Spark’ added to cultivate local performing arts and production talent
The 21st Macao City Fringe Festival, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be held in January next year. The call for proposals for programmes and performance venues is now open, and all local artistic and cultural associations, curators, producers, independent artists, higher education students, and those interested in artistic creation are welcome to submit their proposals. Proposals for all forms of performing arts programmes and artistic activities will be accepted, and applicants are encouraged to show an innovative and bold spirit to break the barriers of traditional venues and to create works that highlight the characteristics and the cultural connotations of the city. All those responsible for local venues are also invited to submit proposals for performance venues so as to provide exhibition or performance spaces for the Fringe Festival. The submission deadline is 5 p.m. on 9 July 2021.

CE to visit Shanghai for Shanghai-Macao Cooperation Conference
The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, will lead a Government delegation to visit Shanghai from 3 to 6 June, for the first Shanghai-Macao Cooperation Conference and discuss with local officials on how to bolster bilateral ties.
