Cultural Affairs Bureau hosts a Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Cultural Creative Design Competition

Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province and the People´s Government of Zhuhai Municipality, and coordinated by the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Zhuhai Municipality, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) of the Macao SAR Government, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Cultural and Creative Industry Alliance, the 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Cultural Creative Design Competition is calling for submission of works. The IC will host a promotion conference on 26 June, at 3pm, at the Auditorium of the Macao Museum of Art. All interested parties are welcome to participate and admission is free.


Consumer Council completed over 1,000 patrols on Certified Shops during first five months of 2021

For the approval of shops’ entitlement to the “Certified Shop” emblem, the Consumer Council continues to carry out patrol on its “Adherents” and “Certified Shops” and has completed over 1,000 patrols for the evaluation of shops.


UM survey shows over 60 per cent of Macao residents intent to receive COVID-19 vaccine

A research team from the University of Macau (UM) Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) recently conducted a survey on the intention of Macao residents to receive COVID-19 vaccine and its influencing factors in Macao. According to the survey, 62.3 per cent of the respondents have the intention to receive COVID-19 vaccine; eight out of ten respondents say that the current vaccination programme is convenient; seven out of ten respondents believe that vaccination will help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in the community and consider getting vaccinated their social responsibility.

Notes about opening “Common Access to Public Services of the Macao SAR” account for minors on the Internet

Starting from 21 June 2021, the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) launched an online service for parents or guardian to open the “Common Access to Public Services of the Macao SAR” account for minors.


“Stay, Dine and See Macao” draws lots today (21 June) for the second-phase Helicopter Ride Experience and Yacht Check-in Tour

19 local tour itineraries were launched for the second phase of the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project, with applications open since 17 June. A total of 3,496 Macao residents have applied for the “Helicopter Ride Experience and Yacht Check-in Tour” by the deadline at 6 p.m. last evening (20 June). In addition to the 14,486 residents who applied at the first phase but were not granted the chance for participation, a total of 17,982 residents are eligible for this round of electronic lots. Electronic lots were drawn at Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) at 10 a.m. today (21 June). MGTO Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong joined hands with representatives of the Task Force comprising Macau Travel Agency Association, Association of Macao Tourist Agents and Travel Industry Council of Macau to press the button for lots casting.

The University of Macau (UM) today (19 June) held the Congregation 2021. Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ao Ieong U, representing the chief executive and UM chancellor at this year’s ceremony, expressed hope that the university would continue to produce outstanding research results and nurture talent who love China and Macao to facilitate moderate economic diversification of Macao.


UM presents teaching award to excellent faculty member

At the Congregation 2021 held today (19 June), the University of Macau (UM) presented the Teaching Excellence Award, which recognises faculty members with outstanding performance in teaching. The recipient in the 2020/2021 academic year is Assistant Professor Jeremy Centeno De Chavez in the Department of English of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.


Second phase of “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project attracts many signups with diverse highlights

The second phase of the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project has begun welcoming applications since 17 June and attracted over 3,700 enthusiastic applicants on the first two days. Offering residents an initiative to enjoy a diversity of local sightseeing tours, the project presents 19 itineraries teeming with fascinating highlights, ready to set off in July and August.
