MPI Holds Online Workshops of Quality Assurance on Teaching and Learning
Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) recently organised two online workshops of quality assurance on teaching and learning to strengthen the teachers’ understanding of higher education and quality assurance and to improve the teaching standards of the Institute continually. MPI invited Dr Erica Lau, Vice Principal, Po Leung Kuk Academy of Professional Education, and Dr Kan Kam Chan, Programme Coordinator of the Social Work Degree Programme of MPI to host the workshops. The workshops attracted more than 100 teachers to participate.

MGTO presents Barrier Free Access Guide to facilitate visits of people with special needs around the city
Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) launched the Barrier Free Access Guide (the “Guide”) today (15 July) to provide barrier-free information of local tourist attractions. Individuals with special needs can consider the information when planning their visits. The Guide was designed to foster building of an inclusive local community in parallel with the Macao Special Administrative Region Government’s plan to optimize the city’s urban environment towards greater accessibility.

Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – June 2020
The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP189.6 billion (USD23.75 billion) at the end of June 2020. The reserves increased by 3.5% from the revised value of MOP183.3 billion (USD22.95 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-June 2020 represented 10 times the currency in circulation or 85.4% of pataca M2 at end-May 2020.

Quarantine-free travel to Guangdong for Macao people with certificate showing free from COVID-19

Members of the Macao general public wishing to visit any of nine designated cities in Guangdong Province, will – with effect from 6am on Wednesday (15 July) – be exempted from a 14-day period of medical observation in Guangdong, under certain conditions.
