30th Macao Arts Festival launches prize game and invites the public to enjoy the classics

The 30th Macao Arts Festival (MAF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will kick off on 3 May. Since the first day of ticket sales, the 30th MAF has received an overwhelming response. Tickets for some programmes of the Festival are already limited, and the public is advised to purchase them as soon as possible.


Exhibition “Beauty in the New Era: Masterpieces from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China” opens at Macao Museum of Art on 3 May (Friday)

Organized by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC), the exhibition “Beauty in the New Era: Masterpieces from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China”, will open on 3 May 2019, at 6:30pm, on the 4th floor of the MAM, featuring nearly 90 works by various masters from the collection of the National Art Museum of China, aiming to fully present the development of Chinese fine arts over the past hundred years. A thematic lecture will also be held in the evening of 2 May 2019. All are welcome to participate.



Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for March 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours rose by 39.6% year-on-year to 996,000 in March 2019. Package tour visitors from Mainland China (803,000), the Republic of Korea (63,000) and Hong Kong (20,000) surged by 47.5%, 31.1% and 47.1% respectively, and those from Taiwan (61,000) went up by 11.3%. In the first quarter of 2019, there were 2,479,000 package tour visitors, an increase of 16.5% year-on-year.


Cartography and Cadastre Bureau launches Macao 3D Map

According to《The Five-Year Development Plan of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2016-2020) 》, to tie in with the development of smart city and the implementation of the three-dimensional map application, Cartography and Cadastre Bureau (DSCC) launches the 3D Map function on the basis of the “Macao Online Map” platform, which allows public to navigate the 3D scenes of Macao in a visual and multi-angles way and see the city's landscapes without going out.
