Social Welfare Bureau, TDM and Deaf Association promote instant sign language translation

In order to enable the deaf and the hearing-impaired to have immediate access to the development of the new coronavirus epidemic and the latest news on the government's response measures, Social Welfare Bureau, TDM and Macao Voice Association will cooperate from now on. During the press conference at 5pm every day held by the Coordination Centre for Viral Infection Response, the deaf and the hearing-impaired will learn the relevant information through the sign language interpreter broadcast live on the Chinese channel on TDM.


Suspension of Macao Postal Savings services starting from 6th February 2020

Services of community, day care and sponsored childcare continue to be suspended

In response to further development of the new coronavirus epidemic, Social Welfare Bureau announced that community and day centers / services, as well as all funded nurseries in Macao, would continue to be suspended until further notice. Social Welfare Bureau once again appealed to private kindergartens to cooperate with the Macao SAR Government in the anti-epidemic work.


Special arrangement 5 February Onwards – Suspension of Processing and Delivery of Local and Overseas Letters and Small Packets

Due to the development of the novel coronavirus, CTT Macao would like to inform starting from 5th of February, the distribution of local letters and small packets, as well as the handling of these items to external destinations is suspended. All items that have been received in post offices are kept in the Mail Exchange Centre. The date to reinitiate the handling and distribution of these items will be notified later. Thanks for the attention and consideration.


CE calls for community effort in fight against coronavirus infection

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today called on all members of the community to continue – alongside the Government – the work to overcome adversities linked to the novel coronavirus episode, and so help to restore the city to normality.


Company statistics for the 4th quarter of 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 1,436 new companies were incorporated in the fourth quarter of 2019, up by 76 year-on-year. New companies operating in Wholesale & Retail Trade and Business Services totalled 578 and 322 respectively. Total value of registered capital increased by 22.7% year-on-year to MOP340 million, attributable to the incorporation of new business services companies with relatively large capital during the quarter. Companies in dissolution totalled 239 in the fourth quarter, and the value of registered capital of these companies amounted to MOP33 million.


CE: Casino suspension aims to advance control of novel coronavirus

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today said the Government has decided to suspend casino operations – and operation of other entertainment facilities – for 15 days, after thorough evaluations regarding developments in the novel coronavirus episode in Macao.


IPIM Suspends Public Services

Addressing the epidemic caused by the new coronavirus in the city, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) is attentively coordinating relevant disease control works. Starting from 5 February, all of IPIM’s public services and facilities will be suspended until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
