Results of survey on manpower needs and wages for the 4th quarter 2018

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released results of the Survey on Manpower Needs and Wages for the fourth quarter of 2018. Survey coverage comprises Wholesale & Retail Trade; Transport, Storage & Communications; Security Activities and Public Sewage & Refuse Disposal Activities; however, own-account workers are excluded.


Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – February 2019

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP166.8 billion (USD20.63 billion) at the end of February 2019. The reserves increased by 1.6% from the revised value of MOP164.3 billion (USD20.32 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-February 2019 represented 9 times the currency in circulation or 81.1% of pataca M2 at end-January 2019.


Lisbon Travel Market opens with Macao in the spotlight as this year’s International Guest Destination

Lisbon Travel Market 2019 (BTL, from its Portuguese acronym) opened this afternoon (March 13, Lisbon time) with Macao among the highlights as this year’s International Guest Destination of the event. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is stepping up its promotion at Portugal’s most important tourism fair with a booth and activities to showcase the city’s heritage, gastronomy, events, new developments and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR).
