Consumer Council activates mechanism to avoid price-gouging during typhoon

News from Consumers Council: Typhoon signal no. 8 will be hoisted soon, and the Council has activated its monitoring mechanism. Consumers may lodge complaint by calling the 24-hour hotline 62980886, or send their information using text, pictures, or voice messages to the Council’s “WhatsApp Hotline” 62980886 if they find any price-gouging or food outlets charging extra money on consumers during typhoon signal is hoisted, the Council will look into the case after receiving the information from consumers, and refer it to the relevant enforcing department if necessary to safeguard consumer rights.

Precautionary measures in place for Typhoon Mangkhut

The Government’s civil protection system will be activated fully from 9pm today, in order to prepare for the approach of Typhoon Mangkhut, classified as a super typhoon.




IPIM Sets up Hotline Addressing Mangkhut’s Impact

As Super Typhoon Mangkhut is approaching, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) now calls on all citizens to stay safe and keep up vigilance against the inclement weather. Should you need to handle any issues including registration and document submission at IPIM after the typhoon has left the city, please call IPIM’s hotline (853) 2871 0300/ 6218 3063 (general services) / (853) 6218 3090 (investment residency services) to know whether the services concerned are affected.
