Registration started today for the 2018 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon

Registration for the 2018 Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon, organized by the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government and the General Association of Athletics of Macau and title sponsored by the Galaxy Entertainment Group, started today (22 September).




Results of industrial survey 2017

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released the results of Industrial Survey for 2017. Total Receipts of the industrial establishments in Macao amounted to MOP11.54 billion in 2017, up by 12.1% year-on-year. Intermediate Consumption and Compensation of Employees totalled MOP6.10 billion and MOP2.20 billion respectively, up by 12.3% and 6.7% year-on-year. Gross Surplus, which equals Total Receipts less Total Expenditure (Intermediate Consumption and Compensation of Employees), of the industrial sector grew by 15.6% year-on-year to MOP3.25 billion. Gross Value Added that measures the sectoral contribution to the economy totalled MOP5.45 billion, up by 11.9% year-on-year. A total of 932 establishments were operating in industrial production, an increase of 50 as compared to 2016, with 37 establishments engaging in Manufacture of Food Products & Beverages. Total number of persons engaged in the industrial sector went up by 451 to 12,498.


CE: Implementation of Five-Year Plan advancing in a phased manner

The Committee for Development of the World Centre of Tourism and Leisure will soon conduct an interim review of the city’s first Five-Year Development Plan, in order to prepare for the formulation of the next five-year plan.


Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’on Santo António Parish

The Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 20 and 21 September for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 21 supermarkets in Santo António Parish.



The Macao 2018 – 35th Asian International Stamp Exhibition Opens Today

The Macao 2018 - 35th Asian International Stamp Exhibition (hereinafter called “Macao 2018”) had held an Opening Ceremony at Sicily Meeting Rooms at The Venetian Macao on 21st September, 2018. Opening Ceremony officiating guests included Mr. Raimundo Arrais do Rosário, Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr. Sun Da, Deputy Director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr. Yang Chun Guang, Deputy Director-General of State Post Bureau of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Zhang Jian, Head of the Division of General Affairs of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ms. Lau Wai Meng and Mr. Io Hong Kuong, Chairmen of “Macao 2018” Organizing Committee, Mr. Tay Peng Hian, President of Federation Internationale de Philatelie, Dr. Prakob Chirakiti, President of Federation of Inter-Asian Philately, Mr. Gordon Leung, Postmaster General of Hong Kong Post, Mr. Gao Shan, General Manager of Department of Stamp Issuane of China Post Group, and Mr. Zhang Yu Hu, Vice President and Secretary General of All-China Philatelic Federation. They had also officiated at the Opening Ceremony for the Treasure Gallery.



Consumer price index (CPI) for August 2018

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI in August 2018 increased by 3.32% year-on-year to 113.20, a small slowdown from the 3.33% growth in July. The increment in August was attributable to higher rentals for dwellings, dearer charges for eating out, rising parking meter rates and increasing prices of gasoline and adults’ clothing.
