Macao Union Hospital and Fire Services Bureau conduct ward fire drill
On 22 January 2025, the Islands Healthcare Complex – Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “Macao Union Hospital”) and the Fire Services Bureau (CB) conducted a fire drill to improve the contingency measures and the mechanism for communication and coordination between both sides in case of emergency. Previously, the CB had organized a fire safety seminar to help the hospital’s staff raise their awareness of fire prevention and strengthen their ability to manage fire crises.

Announcement of medical service arrangements of Macao Union Hospital for Chinese New Year holiday
In view of the Chinese New Year holiday, the specialist outpatient services (including all specialist clinics, the Imagiology Centre, blood drawing and specimen collection services) and international medical services of the Macao Union Hospital will be closed in the afternoon of 28 January (Tuesday) and from 29 to 31 January (Wednesday to Friday).

“YoBuy” Opens During Lunar New Year, Partnering with “Pou Kong Ieng” for the First Time to Host the Lunar New Year Celebration
The “Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Expo Centre” (YoBuy), situated on the sixth floor of the Qingmao Port Building, will open during the Lunar New Year and celebrate the first Lunar New Year following its official opening. To commemorate the occasion with residents and visitors. As January also signifies the one-month milestone since YoBuy’s opening, IPIM has arranged its public ambassador, “Pou Kong Ieng”, to join YoBuyto co-host the Lunar New Year celebration. At the event, the life-sized “Pou Kong Ieng” puppets will engage closely with the participants on-site. Both residents and visitors will have the chance to try their luck at the “Pou Kong Ieng Claw Game”, and make unique memories during the Lunar New Year.

Array of intriguing activities to be held in the six historic districts to celebrate the Chinese New Year

Digital art by UM faculty and student wins gold award at Glow Shenzhen
The digital ink generative video art installation ‘Icy Fire’, created by Lampo Leong, director of the Centre for Arts and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Macau (UM), and doctoral student Yanxiu Zhao, has won a gold award at ‘Glow Shenzhen 2024’, a light art festival held in Shenzhen. This year’s festival featured a total of 209 light artworks from various countries and regions around the city.
