Electoral Affairs Commission announces decision of verification of candidate lists
The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election is responsible – in accordance with Article 10 (1) of the Electoral Law for the Legislative Assembly – for reviewing the compliance of candidate lists with the submission process, as well as the eligibility of candidates, and deciding whether to accept or reject each candidate list.

Tourism Development Committee convenes first Plenary Meeting of 2025
The Tourism Development Committee (CDT, on its Portuguese acronym) convened the first Plenary Meeting of 2025 today (15 July), presided over by Secretary for Economy and Finance and Committee Chairperson, Anton Tai Kin Ip. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) presented the Office’s work progress in the first six months of 2025 and outlined major tasks in the second half of 2025. Various CDT members also proffered their valuable opinions and suggestions on how to steer the tourism development forward.

Citywide celebration of the 20th anniversary of the inscription of the “Historic Centre of Macao” on the World Heritage List
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), co-organised by the Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, the Opening Ceremony of the “20thAnniversary of the Inscription of the Historic Centre of Macao on the World Heritage List” was held today (15 July) at the Dom Pedro V Theatre, kicking off a series of commemorative activities to celebrate the milestone of 20 years of the local World Heritage throughout the entire city.

“Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” opens this Friday
The “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” (hereinafter referred to as “Art Macao 2025”) will be held across the city from summer to autumn. The inauguration ceremony will be held on Friday (18 July) at 4:30pm at the Macao Cultural Centre Small Auditorium. On the occasion, the Main Exhibition will also be inaugurated.

GMBPF Unleashes Diverse Business Opportunities with a Spotlight on Silver Economy and China Chic
The 2025 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair (2025GMBPF), co-organised by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, will take place from 24 to 27 July in Cotai Expo Hall D, The Venetian Macao. With a focus on the Silver Economy and the China Chic industry, this year’s edition will feature a diverse range of activities, including product sales, business matching, forums, guided community tours, and multi-venue events in Macao and Hengqin. The Macao SAR Government firmly supports the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election in performing its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the law
On 15 July, the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election made decisions of ineligibility in accordance with the law for those candidates who do not uphold the Basic Law and bear allegiance to the Macao SAR of the People’s Republic of China pursuant to the results of the eligibility review of candidates standing for the eighth Legislative Assembly Election conducted by the Committee for Safeguarding National Security. The decisions are correct measures in strict accordance with the provisions of the Law on Safeguarding National Security and the Electoral Law for the Legislative Assembly to fully implement the fundamental principle of “patriots administering Macao”. The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region expresses its firm support for this.
