The 43rd Macao Green Week – “Passing on the love of nature to build a beautiful city together”
Organised by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), the 43rd Macao Green Week will take place between 16 and 24 March under the theme “Passing on the love of nature to build a beautiful city together”, inheriting the concept of the “World Planting Day”. During the Green Week, a number of tree planting and experience activities will be held to introduce Macao’s greening development, ecological resources and conservation status. Besides, nearly a thousand saplings will be planted together with groups and members of the public to encourage their participation in environmental greening activities and joint protection of natural ecological resources. In addition, IAM will continue to organise eco-tours in Hengqin to provide the public with more opportunities to get close to nature.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of“Macao Stamp Exhibition 2024”
To commemorate the Macao Stamp Exhibition 2024, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at the Comendador Ho Yin Gallery of the Clube Militar de Macau, from 11:00 to 17:30 on 29th February 2024, to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Macao Stamp Exhibition 2024”.

Results of visitor expenditure survey for the whole year and the 4th quarter of 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total spending of visitors (excluding gaming expenses) surged by 292.2% year-on-year to MOP71.25 billion in 2023, attributable to a substantial rise of 394.9% in the number of visitor arrivals; moreover, the figure represented an increase of 11.2% compared to 2019. Total spending of overnight visitors (MOP60.18 billion) and same-day visitors (MOP11.07 billion) soared by 303.5% and 240.6% year-on-year respectively.

MPU International Students Experience the Beauty of Chinese Traditional Culture
In order to help international students to experience the Spring Festival atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, the Student Affairs Office of the Macao Polytechnic University organised Spring Festival activity. International students from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe gathered together to celebrate the Year of the Dragon and had a memorable Chinese New Year to experience the traditional Chinese customs and culture.

1st Macao International Shorts Film Festival kicks off in March presenting an array of activities to showcase the vitality of short films
Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), the “1st Macao International Shorts Film Festival” will be held from 23 to 30 March, featuring an opening ceremony and opening screenings, screening activities, themed workshops, lectures by masters, as well as a closing and award ceremony. This event is dedicated to promoting local film and television productions whilst introducing diversified international and Asian films to the audience, demonstrating the diversity and vitality of short films.

Business climate survey on restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for December 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the business climate improved markedly in 2023 compared to 2022, with receipts of the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments and retailers showing year-on-year increases in each month throughout the year. Both industries saw comparatively large growth in receipts in June and July, which was attributed to a low base of comparison in 2022.
