Registrations for the lecture “From Concept to Construction: Deciphering Mecanoo’s Design Process” by Arch. Nuno Fontarra, are now open

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the lecture “From Concept to Construction: Deciphering Mecanoo's Design Process” by renowned architect Nuno Fontarra, will be held on 17 May (Friday), at 7pm, in the Conference Room of the Macao Cultural Centre. Admission is free. All interested parties are welcome to register.


Dongpo: Life in Poems Portrait of an artist in motion

The Cultural Affairs Bureau presents Dongpo: Life in Poems, a lyrical, contemporary dance exploring traditional Chinese aesthetics. Created by prolific Sino-American multi-artist Shen Wei, this movement and imagery display will be staged at CCM’s Grand Auditorium in two shows scheduled for 21 and 22 June.


IAM to carry out maintenance of booking, reception and queuing management system

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will carry out maintenance of information system from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on 4 May. During this period, the booking, reception and queuing management system will be out of service intermittently. IAM appeals to the public for their understanding.


Fourth Quarterly Lucky Draw Results of HIES 2023 Announced

The one-year data collection for the Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2023 (HIES 2023) has been completed. Survey results will be released in the third quarter this year. The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) expressed its appreciation for the support and cooperation of the community and the public in providing accurate information.


Wages of construction workers and prices of construction materials for the 1st quarter of 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the average daily wage of construction workers dropped by 2.1% quarter-on-quarter to MOP759 in the first quarter of 2024, due to a decrease in the employment of workers with relatively high daily wages during the completion phase of some large entertainment facilities. The average daily wages of local workers (MOP969) and non-resident construction workers (MOP684) went down by 1.5% and 1.3% respectively quarter-on-quarter.



“Law on Veterinary Clinical Care and Commercial Activity of Animals” enters into force and law popularisation in community deepens knowledge of sector

Law no. 4/2023 “Law on Veterinary Clinical Care and Commercial Activity of Animals” has entered into force on 1 April this year. Individuals who practise the profession of veterinary surgeon in Macao must go through the “certification of professional accreditation of veterinary surgeons” and obtain the registration card, whereas establishments of veterinary clinical care, breeding, sale and boarding of animals are required to hold a license for the establishments before commencement of business. The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) constantly strengthens popularisation of the law in the community, joins hands with relevant authorities to explain the regulatory requirements for use of veterinary medicines to the sector, and sends staff to visit the establishments concerned to promote the legal implementation of the law by the sector.




Macao’s original IP brands participated in Hong Kong Licensing Show to explore international market

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym) has organised the participation of Macao’s cultural and creative industries in the “Hong Kong International Licensing Show 2024” from 27 to 29 April in Hong Kong, in which it has set up the “Macao Creative Pavilion” and the promotion sessions, promoting the visibility of Macao’s cultural and creative brands.
