2024 Macau International Kart Grand Prix sponsored by Sands China to be held this and next week

The 2024 Macau International Kart Grand Prix, organized by the Sports Bureau, the Automobile General Association of Macao-China, OTK Kart Asia and IAME Asia, and sponsored by Sands China Limited, will take place from 28 November to 1 December (Thursday to Sunday)and from 4 to 8 December (Wednesday to Sunday)at the Coloane Karting Track.


Macao delegation participated in the 5th AML Tripartite Meeting (Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR)

To further strengthen and promote cross-border exchange and cooperation in preventing and combating money laundering among competent authorities in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, the Financial Intelligence Office of the Unitary Police Service coordinated a Macao SAR delegation to Chengdu, Sichuan from 19 to 20 November 2024 to participate in the “5th AML Tripartite meeting (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao) ” organized by the Anti-money Laundering Bureau of the People’s Bank of China.


Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for October 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that inbound package tour visitors totalled 194,000 in October 2024, an uplift of 14.2% year-on-year. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms of hotel establishments rose by 4.5 percentage points year-on-year to 87.3%. Meanwhile, number of guests dropped by 5.8% to 1,176,000, and their average length of stay remained at 1.6 nights.

The Survey on Manpower Needs and Wages for the third quarter of 2024 covers the Manufacturing sector; the Electricity, Gas & Water Supply sector; Hotels; Restaurants; Child-care and Elderly Care services.


[Collaborative Efforts with International Authorities Promote Co-operation] “International Exhibition Industry Association” (UFI) Recognizes Macao's Professional Training in the Exhibition Industry

The UFI Board of Directors and Global Annual Congress took place in Cologne, Germany, from 20 to 23 November. During the meeting, both the UFI Board and representatives from the international exhibition industry praised the UFI Annual Asia-Pacific Conference held in Macao in March this year. They also acknowledged the professional training in the exhibition sector set to begin in Macao in June 2024, and confirmed that a series of exhibition training courses will continue to be held in Macao in 2025. President of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Vincent U and President of Board of Directors of the Macau Fair & Trade Association Chan Si Nga attended the meeting as UFI Board members and participated in annual meeting activities along with representatives from Macao’s exhibition industry.


Citywide unmanned aircraft ban during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Macao SAR

According to Paragraph 66 of the "Air Navigation Regulation of Macao" approved by the Executive Order No. 43/2021, the Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) will implement a citywide ban on unmanned aircraft activities from 14 to 22 December 2024, to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the celebration of 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR.


Secretary of state for higher education of Republic of Angola leads delegation to visit UM

A delegation led by Eugénio Adolfo Alves da Silva, secretary of state for higher education of the Republic of Angola, visited the University of Macau (UM) today (26 November), and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Rui Martins. The two parties had in-depth discussions on promoting academic and research collaboration and talent cultivation between Macao and Angola.

The Online Book Shop, launched by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), has been well received by local and overseas readers since its establishment. Annual Exhibition of Macao Visual Arts opens this Friday showcasing the latest development of local arts in Western media

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the “Annual Exhibition of Macao Visual Arts 2024 – Western Media Category” will be inaugurated on 29 November (Friday), at 6:30pm, at the Tap Seac Gallery. All are welcome to participate.
