Widely acclaimed programme “Fado Nights” concerts return with new performances and singers
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “Fado Nights” concerts attracted many residents and tourists and received high acclaim since their debut at the Dom Pedro V Theatre, a World Heritage site, in early March. In order to continuously enrich the cultural tourism of Macao and allow the public to appreciate the enchanting charm of Fado music, the “Fado Nights” concerts will return with a new round of performances from 7pm to 8pm, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, between 29 March and 5 May, featuring professional Fado singers Francisco Moreira and Marta de Sousa from Portugal.

UM releases latest research results on mental health intervention app
The University of Macau (UM) and New York University Shanghai (NYU Shanghai) jointly developed a mobile application for mental health intervention called ‘Step-by-Step’ (SbS) and conducted the first randomised controlled trial on UM students to investigate its effectiveness. The latest research results were released at UM today (26 March). The results show that SbS is effective in alleviating depressive symptoms among Chinese university students in the short term and improving their psychological well-being in the long term, pointing to a promising future for digital mental health intervention.

[Promoting Development of “1+4” Industries through Regional Co-operation] 2024MIECF Features More Than 20 Themed Activities to Foster Co-operation
The 2024 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2024MIECF) will be held from 28 to 30 March, featuring more than 20 themed activities. Among them, nine are concurrent events such as forums, seminars, promotional sessions, and course accreditation, to be presented in collaboration with professional institutions and industry associations. These concurrent events will focus on new energy development, green innovation, resource recycling, low-carbon transformation, green MICE events, and practice and calculation of carbon emissions from MICE events, among others, in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with the aim of fostering green regional co-operation and development through sharing and discussion.

The 2024 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2024MIECF) will be held from 28 to 30 March at Cotai Expo Halls, The Venetian Macao, under the theme “Reaching the Dual Carbon Goals through Green Transformation”. At the press conference of the 2024MIECF held today (26 March), the official co-ordinators and participating organisations introduced the event. After the press conference, media workers were invited to learn about the exhibition setup and view the green products already on display in advance, including atmospheric water generators, dry-ice cleaning devices, microbiological food waste processors and others.

The ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2024 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, will be held at the Galaxy Arena from 15 to 21 April. The organizers today (25 March) unveiled the official event logo, mascot and slogan.
