“Pristine Planet – Winter Flower Show 2023” opens tomorrow

The “Pristine Planet – Winter Flower Show 2023” will take place in Avenida da Praia, Taipa from tomorrow (15 December) to 31 December. Centring on the “pristine” state of planets, the flower show allows visitors to travel among various ball-shaped flowers, orchard of giant trees and time arches and indulge in a fairylike and splendid world of planets.


Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – November 2023

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today (14 December) that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP220.6 billion (USD27.44 billion) at the end of November 2023. The reserves decreased by 0.2% from the revised value of MOP221.1 billion (USD27.44 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-November 2023 represented 11 times the currency in circulation or 89.0% of pataca M2 at end-October 2023.




IFTM Students Boost Local Social Enterprise Through Entrepreneurship Course Project

Students from the Culinary Arts Management Programme of the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM), under the guidance of Dr. Fernando Lourenço, the mentor of the Entrepreneurship Programme, have made significant strides through an industrial project with "Dream of Sexagenarian 60" [甲子園美食], a unique restaurant operated mainly by elderly individuals.




UM holds Macao Humanities Forum on development of traditional Chinese culture

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) of the University of Macau (UM) held the Macao Humanities Forum. The event featured Tian Qibo, executive dean of the Jao Tsung-I Institute of Culture Studies at Shenzhen University and chief expert of major projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, as the speaker. Prof Tian delivered a lecture titled ‘The Inheritance and Development of Traditional Chinese Culture’. The lecture attracted many on-site and online participants, including faculty members and students of UM.


Sculptor Cristina Rocha Leiria shares the artistic concept that served as the basis for the creation of the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the lecture “Well-being and Silence - the aim of our Ecumenical Centre” by renowned Portuguese sculptor Cristina Maria de Faria Rocha Leiria, will be held on 16 December (Saturday), at 3pm, at the Auditorium of the Macao Museum of Art. Cristina Leiria will share with the public technical details about the casting process of the Kun Iam statue and the creative concept of the design of the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre. Registration for this lecture is open from 11 December. Residents are welcome to register through the Macao One Account.
