UTM celebrates 30th Anniversary with Gala, “Honouring Legacy, Inspiring the Future”

The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) held its 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the Macau Tower on 15 September 2025, gathering with the community to review the university’s development journey and achievements over the past thirty years, and to express heartfelt gratitude to all sectors for their long-standing support.


Cultural Affairs Bureau adjusts the opening hours of two public libraries from 1 October

The Bairro da Ilha Verde Library and the Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Dr. Sun Yat Sen Municipal Park, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will adjust their opening hours from 1 October 2025, in order to further optimise public reading services and meet the diverse needs of the public.


The 2nd GEG Macao International Shorts Film Festival Tickets on Sale with Outreach Events Open for Registration

The 2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as the “Macao International Shorts Film Festival”), co-organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), will take place from 14 to 21 September. The tickets are now on sale via “Enjoy Macao Ticketing”, with multiple outreach events open for registration simultaneously.


MGTO will unveil mega tourism promotion on 17 September in Portugal

The mega tourism promotional event “Experience Macao Roadshow in Lisbon” will be held in Lisbon from 17 to 21 September, showcasing the glamorous kaleidoscope of “tourism +” and branding Macao as an ideal destination for the European visitor market, to attract more European visitors and expand international visitor markets.


Online registration for 2nd Academic Week of Macao Union Medical Center opens

To further promote the development of medicine in Macao and facilitate medical exchange, the Islands Healthcare Complex – Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “Macao Union Medical Center”) will host the “2nd Academic Week of the Islands Healthcare Complex – Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital” on 27 and 28 September. In alignment with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program for 15 categories of health professionals, the online registration of this event is open to doctors, dentists, Chinese medicine practitioners, pharmacists, Chinese medicine pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory technicians, radiographers, chiropractors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychotherapists, nutritionists and pharmacy technical assistants, as well as other trainees in Macao.



Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – August 2025

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today (15 September) that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP235.4 billion (USD29.33 billion) at the end of August 2025. The reserves increased by 0.7% from the revised value of MOP233.7 billion (USD28.91 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-August 2025 represented 11 times the currency in circulation or 87.9% of pataca M2 at end-July 2025.


Mortgage loans statistics – July 2025

According to statistics released today (15 September) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased month-on-month in July 2025. With regard to the outstanding balances, RMLs dropped whereas CRELs remained stable on a monthly basis.



CTT organized “Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Workshop (2025)” to enhance cybersecurity vulnerability identification techniques

Organized by the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT), the “Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Workshop (2025)” was successfully held on 13th September at the Auditorium of Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre. The registration was positive and met with active participation.
