CCAC invites ICAC of Hong Kong to send staff to Macao for providing training so as to enhance investigation capacity
The CCAC has been sparing no effort in fighting corruption. In order to further enhance the law enforcement capacity and skills of its investigators, it has specially invited the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong to send staff to Macao to launch a “continuous training programme on anti-corruption work for the CCAC’s investigators”.

IAM implements multiple measures in green facilities to facilitate Macau Grand Prix
To facilitate the construction works of the spectator stands of the 70th Macau Grand Prix, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will temporarily close the area in Arts Park between Praça de Ferreira do Amaral and a section of Rua de Cantão and the area in Reservatório Park next to Edif. do Grande Prémio de Macau in Avenida da Amizade from 25 September onwards. In addition, areas in Arts Park, D. Maria II Hill Park and D. Maria II Viewing Platform, which are near the racing circuit, will be closed from 11 to 12 November and from 16 to 19 November when the car racing is held. The public are advised to pay attention to the signs on site and the relevant arrangements.

The Global Centre of Tourism Education and Training of the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM), in collaboration with United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), successfully kicked off her 15th training programme “Leveraging the Meetings Industry and Gastronomy to Champion the Agenda of Sustainable Tourism Development” on 18 September 2023 at MGM COTAI. This is the 1st face-to-face training after the pandemic.

Business climate survey on restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for July 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments and retailers recorded significant year-on-year growth in receipts in July 2023, mainly due to the relatively low base of comparison in the same month last year. Receipts of the interviewed establishments surged by 354.2% year-on-year, with receipts of Chinese Restaurants, Japanese & Korean Restaurants and Western Restaurants soaring by 738.1%, 455.0% and 355.0% respectively. In addition, sales of the interviewed retailers jumped by 455.7% year-on-year in July. Leather Goods Retailers (+3,078.2%), Watches, Clocks & Jewellery Retailers (+2,708.8%), Department Stores (+1,193.1%) and Cosmetics & Sanitary Articles Retailers (+1,070.9%) posted a notable rise in sales, whereas only Supermarkets (-26.5%) registered a sales decrease.
