IAM restores Statue of Our Lady and Plaques of Stations of the Cross in Rotunda de Seac Pai Van in Coloane

The Statue of Our Lady and the Plaques of Stations of the Cross located in Rotunda de Seac Pai Van in Coloane were damaged to a certain extent due to the passage of typhoons in the early years. Therefore, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has planned to carry out restoration works and has constantly maintained close communication with the Catholic Diocese of Macau about the restoration plan. The works concerned will be carried out by contractor with experiences and technique in restoration of statues.

IFTM Showcased Gastronomy and Wine Expertise at the 11th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE)

The 11th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE), organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), is a professional international tourism exhibition and Macao's first tourist product consumption show. This year's Expo featured renowned chefs from Cities of Gastronomy across the world, who demonstrated their unique culinary skills at the City of Gastronomy (CoG) Showcase and offered wine education to local students. IFTM Culinary Arts Management (CAM) Programme team had the honour of assisting in the organisation of the CoG Showcase, thanks to the invitation from MGTO and MITE. IFTM faculty member Mr. Oscar Ho delivered two wine education Seminars in the event.

Macao Polytechnic University Hosts “The 2023 Pan-Pearl River Delta+ University IT Projects Competition Final”

The 2023 Pan-Pearl River Delta+ University IT Projects Competition Final has been opened on July 3 at the Macao Polytechnic University. Thousands of students from 17 provinces and cities, including Guangdong, Yunnan, Hainan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Hubei, Heilongjiang, Xinjiang, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, participated in the competition and 60 teams entered the final.


The 2023 Pan-Pearl River Delta+ University IT Projects Competition Final was held at the Macao Polytechnic University, and Eleven Universities Won the First Prize

The 2023 Pan-Pearl River Delta+ University IT Projects Competition Final, jointly hosted by Macao Polytechnic University and Macao Computer Society, was held at 3:30 pm on July 4 at Macao Polytechnic University. After two days of competition, there are totally 11 universities, including Macao Polytechnic University, Guangdong University of Technology, Central South University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Hunan University of Science and Technology, Hainan University, Fuzhou University, Xihua University, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and National Taiwan Normal University, winning the first prize. And there are 15 and 34 universities winning the second prize and the third prize respectively. More than 300 participants from various provinces and regions, as well as teachers and students from secondary schools in Macao, attended the award ceremony, witnessing the important moment of the winners.


The “Inheritance and Innovation: Forum on Intangible Cultural Heritage” Held by MPU Contributes to the Construction of Cultural Exchange and Cooperation Base

To support the development of Macao's cultural and tourism industry, to deepen thecultural developmentof the Greater Bay Area, and align withMacao's goal of becoming "a platform for cultural exchange and cooperation by promoting Chinese culture as the mainstream whilst preserving the unique pluralistic cultural heritage of Macao", the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences ofMacao Polytechnic Universityheld the "Inheritance and Innovation: Forum onIntangible Cultural Heritage" on July 6th. The forum aimed to explore the theoretical and practical issues related to the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) protection, inheritance and rejuvenation. The forum included academic presentations delivered by the eminent scholars in the field, in addition to the demonstrations ofintangible cultural heritage performedby the living masters, inheritors and safeguarding units. The forum not only showcases the charm of intangible cultural heritage, but also highlights the diversity of Macao's culture. More than 100 experts, scholars, inheritance masters from Beijing, Shandong, Guangdong, and Macao attended the event, together with the faculty members and students of Macao Polytechnic University.


The Centre for Continuing Education of Macao Polytechnic University offers various courses on social work professional practice

In order to respond to the needs of social workers for professional development, the Centre for Continuing Education of Macao Polytechnic University will launch a number of social work professional practice courses in the third quarter of 2023, including “Practical Skills for Social Rehabilitation Service”, “Expressive Arts Therapy and Social Work Application”, “Nurturing Key Abilities of Adolescents”, “Strategies and Skills for Intimacy Counselling”, “Community Work: Resident Meeting Practice”, “Social Service Project: Planning and Management”, “Social Worker Intervention Skills Application” and “Care for Dementia Patients” etc. These courses have been recognized by the Macao Social Workers Professional Committee as continuing education activities for social workers, and are now accepting applications.


The Centre for Continuing Education of Macao Polytechnic University offers a course on “Change Management”

The global social and economic situation is changing instantaneously, forcing the industries to accelerate transformation and upgrading to cope with competition. Therefore, practitioners must also take timely actions to tackle with challenges. In order to maintain core competitiveness, organisations must successfully adapt to changes, control changes, and even actively influence changes in the face of industrial adjustments, market fluctuations, and changes in the competitive situation, and seize opportunities in crises. In order to do so, organisation management needs to understand and master the concept and ability of change management. The Centre for Continuing Education of Macao Polytechnic University is about to launch a “Change Management” course, which is now open for application.
