[Linking China-PSCs Opportunities] Macao Enterprises Conducted over 100 Business Negotiations to Expand New Business at the CISCE And IPIM Promoted the 2nd C-PLPEX
To give full play to the advantages of Macao as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) and to foster the optimisation and upgrading of the industrial supply chains between China and PSCs, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) exhibited at the 2nd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) , and organised a 17-member Macao entrepreneur delegation to participate in the event in Beijing from 25 to 28 November, facilitating about over 100 business talks. According to some representatives of the Macao delegation, they received many co-operation intentions, and reported that joining the event enabled them to develop their businesses. During CISCE, IPIM representatives introduced the development opportunities of Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao to over 80 participating companies.

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the “Annual Exhibition of Macao Visual Arts 2024 – Western Media Category” was inaugurated today (29 November) at the Tap Seac Gallery. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Acting President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Cheang Kai Ming; the Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Bai Bing; the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design of the Macao Polytechnic University, Lai Mei Kei; the President of the Macau Artist Society, Lok Hei; and the President of the Macau Art Master Association, Lai Ieng.

UM Faculty of Law holds conference on civil, commercial and civil procedure law
The Centre for Law Studies of the Faculty of Law (FLL) of the University of Macau (UM) held the 14th International Conference titled ‘Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR: Studies on Macao’s Civil Code, Commercial Code, and Civil Procedure Code’. The seminar brought together law professors, scholars, and representatives of legal institutions from mainland China, Portugal, Mozambique, Angola, Brazil, and Macao, as well as FLL students and faculty, who discussed in depth the development and challenges of civil, commercial and civil procedure law.

Greater Bay Area Forum Focuses on New Directions for the Integration of Health Tourism, Logistics and Transport
In recent years, the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for the Construction of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone,” issued by the State Council, have provided important guidance on the development of leisure tourism and the health industry. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the “Greater Bay Area Health Tourism, Services, and Integrated Logistics Development Forum”, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Macao and co-organised by the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) as the principal partner, was successfully held at UTM’s Mong-Há campus on 29 November. The event also featured an online livestream, attracting over 120 participants on-site, including representatives from government departments, industry experts, associations, and universities. The forum covered multiple integrated fields such as supply chain, transportation, healthcare, wellness, services, and tourism.

The Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak, stated that Macao’s overall public security situation is stable and remains so. Incidence of violent crime in the city continues generally to be low, and crime prevention and control strategies are in place.

[Integrating Into Overall National Development] IPIM Organised 21 Macao Enterprises and Commerce Associations to Sichuan to Facilitate Economic Co-operation
The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (“IPIM”) of the Macao Special Administrative Region organised a delegation of representatives from 21 Macao enterprises and commerce associations to attend the “Mutually Beneficial Co-operation and Business Matching Conference Between Hong Kong and Macao and Regions in Western China” in Guang’an City, Sichuan Province from 26 to 29 November. Guided by the Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the event aims to facilitate Macao enterprises in deeply integrating into the overall national development, enhancing collaboration between Hong Kong and Macao enterprises and enterprises in western China, and providing opportunities for them to explore the extensive market potential in western China.
