IFTM best in Asia and world’s top-10 for hospitality and leisure education, says QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023

The Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) has been rated in the freshly released QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 as one of the top-10 higher education institutions globally for hospitality and leisure management studies, being adjudged also the best in the whole of Asia in this field. It is the first time that a Macao higher education institution has reached such a high position in the rankings.


Macao-Hengqin Delegation Promotes Investment in Malaysia to Share Business Opportunities

From 18 to 20 March, the Macao-Hengqin Investment Promotion Delegation (“the Delegation”) organised a number of investment invitation events in Malaysia, including large promotion seminars, business matching sessions, and visits to agencies and enterprises such as the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce and SkyeChip. Both sides exchanged views on scientific and technological innovation, two-way investment, industrial co-operation, and other matters.


Opening hours of Dr. Sun Yat Sen Municipal Park adjusted to all day

The opening hours of Dr. Sun Yat Sen Municipal Park are adjusted to all day from 20 March onwards for the public to enjoy a green living space and to address the increase in people flow after the opening of Qingmao checkpoint, so as to provide convenience to the public and tourists to spend their leisure time in the park in different time periods.


Survey on information technology usage in the household sector for 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that number of households with Internet access totalled 195,100 in 2022, equivalent to 95.8% of the total households, up by 1.2 percentage points year-on-year, showing a further increase in prevalence of Internet use. Among the households with Internet access, 97.9% used mobile network while 91.2% used home broadband. Meanwhile, 72.4% (147,400) of the total households had computer equipment (e.g. tablet, laptop), the same proportion as in 2021.
