Following the tenth edition of “Macao Philatelic Catalogue” issued in 2021, the eleventh edition has also been compiled. Continuing with the format in the previous edition, it covers well-organized text that provides comprehensive background information on all the philatelic products issued from 2021 to 2022.


The 42nd Macao Green Week – “Passing on the love of nature to build a beautiful city together”

Organised by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), the 42nd Macao Green Week will take place between 18 and 26 March, during which more than 30 sessions of activities will be organised to introduce local green facilities, ecological resources and the current state of conservation. Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the environmental greening activities and take care of natural ecological resources with joint efforts.


Horta da Mitra Municipal Market operates until 27 February, as reorganisation works to be launched and expected to be completed by the end of the year

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will launch the reorganisation works of Horta da Mitra Municipal Market in March. In addition to preserving the architectural façade of the market building and updating the facilities, the interior layout will be reorganised to separate the dry and wet zones, so as to provide a good shopping experience for the public. After discussion with vendors, the market will operate until 27 February, and operation will cease and relocation will be carried out starting from 28 February. Preliminary preparation work, such as improvement of environmental hygiene and rodent elimination, will be carried out subsequently. The construction works are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, funding costs of the banking sector in Macao generally increased in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Economic and Trade Departments in Macao and Hengqin introduce to Portuguese youth enterprises online

In order to promote Macao and Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin to overseas markets and to leverage the function of Macao’s China-Portuguese-speaking countries platform, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Portugal-China Young Entrepreneurs Association (AJEPC) jointly organised the “Join Macao, Seize PSCs Opportunities” Online Investor Presentation Session on 23 February. The event was held online and offline in both Macao and Portugal, during which representatives from the Economic Development Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin made a themed presentation. The event attracted over 30 enterprises.


MICE statistics for the 4th quarter of 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 197 MICE events were held in Macao in the fourth quarter of 2022, an increase of 34 year-on-year. Meanwhile, number of participants & attendees dropped by 15.4% year-on-year to 608,000 as number of large exhibitions decreased.


806 Temporary Residency Applications Handled in 2022

In 2022, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute has handled 806 temporary residency applications for "Investors, Managerial Personnel and Professionals with Special Qualifications". Among them, there were 511 renewal applications, 20 applications for residency extension to family dependent, and 275 new applications.
