Registration Opening for “Computer Security Basic Training Course (2023)”

In order to raise the awareness of computer security and strengthen the ability to identify computer risks for workers from corporate offices in Macao,the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT)will organize three classes for the “Computer Security Basic Training Course (2023)”, which will take place on 7th, 14th and 21st of June, 2023 (19:00 – 22:00) respectively at the Auditorium of Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre. The course will introduce basic theory and knowledge of computer security, potential threats in the world of Internet, and different types of attack and defense strategies. The course is free and 50 seats are available for each class.




UM delegation visits top universities in Singapore to forge collaborations on training of innovative talent

A delegation from the University of Macau (UM), led by Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Rui Martins, recently visited three top universities in Singapore to foster exchanges and cooperation in teaching and research and promote the training of innovative talent with global competitiveness, so as to expand UM’s international network and enhance its degree of internationalisation.



Tap Siac Craft Market in spring continues to be held from Thursday to Sunday

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market in spring will continue to be held from Thursday to Sunday (27 to 30 April) at Tap Siac Square, featuring a new group of cultural and creative brands. The public is welcome to participate in the cultural and creative event in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.


“Macao Library Week 2023” fosters a city of reading

The “Macao Library Week 2023”, jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), the University of Macau Library and the Macao Library and Information Management Association, will promote a series of reading activities from 15 April to 14 May. The opening ceremony was held on the World Book Day, 23 April (Sunday), at the Macao Cultural Centre. At the ceremony, the Acting President of the IC, Cheang Kai Meng and the Deputy Director of the DSEDJ, Wong Ka Ki, presented the self-check machines to schools, followed by the activities “4.23 Reading in the City” and the “Half-Hour Reading Session”, coordinated with cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan and Hong Kong. In Macao, reading leaders including the President of IC, Leong Wai Man, registered social worker, Chan Wai Leong, secondary school teacher, Lee Tak Wah, and higher education student, Tong Pui Lam, shared their reading experiences and recommended books through video, in order to promote the concept “Making reading part of daily life” to the public via the Internet. Reading activities were held in a number of venues and reading points, creating an ambience of reading across the city.


CE meets Luxembourg’s Prime Minister to bolster financial cooperation

While in Luxembourg, the Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, met with the country’s Prime Minister, and Minister of State, and respectively Minister for Communications and Media, Minister for Religious Affairs, Minister for Digitalisation, and Minister for Administrative Reform, Mr Xavier Bettel. The aim was to strengthen bilateral ties in matters relating to the economy, trade, modern financial services, and other fields.


MPU 2023 Information Day Showcased Diverse Teaching and Research Achievements and Received Overwhelmingly Positive Reactions

Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) successfully held its hybrid 2023 Information Day on 22 April. Through a series of programmes and studies consultation booths, academic research experiences, sharing sessions, thematic exhibitions, and performances by students from Portuguese-speaking countries, it showcased MPU’s characteristics, programme information, as well as the latest research results to the community. Prospective secondary school graduates, secondary school students, their parents and the public were attracted to participate, and the response has been enthusiastic.
