IAM follows up on the maintenance of a weakened ancient tree in Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida

During inspections in recent months, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) found that the condition of a camphor tree (ancient tree no. 539) located in Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida was rapidly worsening. All the leaves of its tree crown have now withered and there are signs of damage by pests. IAM will continue to apply pesticide medication and care for the tree, and monitor the growth of the ancient and valuable trees across Macao.


IAM optimises informative signs in trails and parks

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will carry out the optimisation works of informative signs in Morro de Hac Sá Family Trail, Hac Sá Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail, Ká Hó Reservoir Lakeside Trail, Coloane North-East Hiking Trail Network, Taipa Pequena 2000 Circuit, Hac Sá Reservoir Fitness Trail and Hac Sá Reservoir Family Trail in phases from 13 October, so as to promote the concept of loving nature and to better provide popular science information about mountain forest restoration. Meanwhile, informative signs in parks will also be replaced and installed in phases. During this period, the trails and parks will be open as usual and only some areas will be enclosed. The works are expected to last until December. IAM appeals to the public for their attention and understanding.


CE visiting Beijing for Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation

(Macao – 16 October 2023) The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, is visiting Beijing from today until Wednesday (18 October) to attend the opening ceremony of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and for other related activities. While in the capital, Mr Ho will also witness the signing of the operation and cooperation agreement for the Islands District Medical Complex - Macao Medical Centre of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, between the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government and Peking Union Medical College Hospital.





Results of construction sector survey 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that Receipts of the Construction Sector decreased by 13.5% year-on-year to MOP48.93 billion in 2022; of which, Receipts from Construction Works Performed (MOP47.6 billion) declined by 13.8% due to a drop in receipts from private construction projects. Expenditure of the sector amounted to MOP44.16 billion, down by 14.4% year-on-year. Gross Surplus reduced by 3.8% to MOP4.78 billion. Gross Value Added that measures the sectoral contribution to the economy fell by 2.1% to MOP14.37 billion. Gross Fixed Capital Formation totalled MOP172 million, down by 31.2% year-on-year.
