IFTM students developing tourism business ideas for local entrepreneur

This year, Tourism Business Management students at IFTM participated in an industrial project as part of their entrepreneurship course to support local entrepreneur James Sun and his business, Best Concepts Planning Limited. James Sun is currently developing an activity centre at the Broadway Hotel, to incorporate three distinct mascots created for his government-funded project "Coracão Em Macau". This initiative seeks to promote intangible cultural assets so that more residents and tourists may comprehend the distinctive Portuguese and Macanese cultures of Macao through online and offline experiences.


Non-tertiary education schools resume classes on January 9 after extension of holidays, institutions of higher education teach classes online and offline

To avoid the peak of the epidemic and reduce the chance of large COVID-19 outbreaks in schools at the same time, the DSEDJ coordinates holiday time with all non-tertiary education schools in Macao after listening to the opinions of the health department. Starting from today, the school holidays are extended and the class resumption date is January 9, 2023. Institutions of higher education will give lectures as originally planned and carry out teaching activities online or offline. The relevant arrangements are as follows:


CCAC to only receive declarations of assets and interests by appointment from tomorrow

Due to the change in the novel coronavirus epidemic situations and effective adjustment of manpower, the Declaration of Assets and Interests Division of the CCAC will only accept declarations of assets and interests by appointment from tomorrow (23rd December) until 30th December. Walk-in submissions will not be accepted.


Post Offices Services Arrangements

In view of the latest situation of COVID-19 in Macao, in order to minimize the risk of disease transmission and better serve the public with limited resources, the Cultural Centre Post Office, Carmo Post Office and University of Macau (UM) Post Office will be suspended from 23rd December until further notice.

Concerning the joint and sole operations against illegal workers launched by the Public Security Police Force, the Labour Affairs Bureau and other authorities in November 2022 at construction sites, private flats, commercial and industrial establishments, etc., the figures are set out below.


Five days correspondence delivery per week

As the economic development of Macao SAR progressed, in order to uphold the effective use of public resources. Starting from 1st of January 2023, the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will adjust the correspondence (including registered mail) delivery days from Monday to Friday, while EMS delivery days will be remain from Monday to Saturday.


Visitor arrivals for November 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals declined by 54.3% year-on-year and 36.8% month-on-month to 366,511 in November 2022, owing to the impact of the pandemic situation in the neighbouring regions. Overnight visitors (196,279) and same-day visitors (170,232) fell by 31.7% and 66.9% year-on-year respectively. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors extended by 0.6 day year-on-year to 1.9 days; the duration for overnight visitors (3.5 days) increased by 0.1 day, whereas that for same-day visitors (0.1 day) remained unchanged.


Community outpatient clinics at Travessa Central da Praia Grande and Seac Pai Van temporary health station start operating today

In response to changes in the epidemic situation in Macao, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre continues to dynamically study and assess the locations of community outpatient clinics. It is hoped to facilitate residents to get medical treatment and balance their needs in daily life. On 21 December (Wednesday), the community outpatient clinic at Travessa Central da Praia Grande (near Grand Emperor Hotel) is brought into operation. And besides, a new community outpatient clinic will be set up at Seac Pai Van temporary health station on the same date to meet the needs of outlying island residents.
