Attracting overseas visitors – Macao Grand Prix Museum reveals the identity of the eight racers’ wax figures
In line with the expansion project of the Macao Grand Prix Museum, as well as to boost the charm of the Museum and enrich visitors’ experience, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Madame Tussauds Hong Kong join hands for the first time to debut the wax figures of eight renowned racing drivers at the Macao Grand Prix Museum (the “Museum”) on 27 March. An inaugural ceremony will lift curtains upon the figures in the afternoon.

Cultural Affairs Bureau offers additional Busking Points at The Old Iec Long Firecracker Factory site and Macau Science Centre Square
In order to strengthen the existing cultural atmosphere in the community, to provide more performing platforms for local arts and cultural practitioners and to promote quality street performances, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will offer new performance sites (“Busking Points”) at The Old Iec Long Firecracker Factory site and Macau Science Centre Square from 24 March onwards in addition to the five existing venues. These additional points will be available for Buskers from 10am to 6pm, from Fridays to Sundays and public holidays.

Macao Polytechnic University Students Rank First by Winning 12 Gold Medals in the 2022-2023 Macao University Athletics Championship
Organised by the Macao University Sports Association and co-sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the “2022-2023 Macao University Athletics Championship” was held recently and the Athletics Team of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) won a total of 39 medals in more than 20 events: 12 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze medals, thereby ranking first among all universities in Macao.

2023 Sands China Macao International 10K concluded
The 2023 Sands China Macao International 10K, jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, and title-sponsored by Sands China Ltd., was held today (19 March). The Fun Run started at 7 a.m. and the 10K race started at 7:30 a.m. at Sai Van Lake Square. Edwin Soi from Kenya won the overall 10K men’s title from compatriots Mathew Samperu and Joseph Ngare, with a new race record of 29:16. Kenyan Winrose Chepkorir, was crowned the overall 10K women’s champion having beaten compatriot Lucy Ndambuki and Zsofia Kovacs from Hungary with a time of 34:22, also a new race record.

Dedication to overseas market development – MGTO unfolds destination promotions in Malaysia and Singapore
Airlines successively resumes international flights to Macao following the city’s lifting of travel restrictions. Capitalizing on this opportunity, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) marshals in-person promotions in different Southeast-Asian cities with direct flights to Macao. In March, the Office marks its presence in an international travel fair in Malaysia and a travel trade networking meeting organized by the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore for destination branding in both countries. By restarting various offline activities to raise Macao’s profile via multi-channels, unreserved efforts have unfolded to tap the potential of source markets in Southeast Asia.

The first meeting of the management committee of the China Southern Power Grid – University of Macau Joint Laboratory of Smart Power and Energy for Carbon Neutrality was held today (17 March) at the University of Macau (UM).
