Registration for 2023 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon to start this weekend
Organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and the General Association of Athletics of Macau (AGAM), the 2023 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon will take place on 3 December (Sunday). Registration will be open from 9:00 a.m. on 16 September (Saturday) for the marathon and half marathon races, and from 9:00 a.m. on 17 September (Sunday) for the mini marathon race. Places available include 1,400 for the marathon, 4,800 for the half marathon and 5,800 for the mini marathon. Places are limited for each category and registration will be closed when all places are filled.

[Expanding MICE Talent Pool] Over 30 CEM Certified Exhibition Managers Newly Added in Macao
The “34th Certified in Exhibition Management® (CEM CHINA) Learning Programme” ended in early September, and over 30 trainees successfully obtained their certificates. As one of the cities with the largest number of CEM graduates in China, Macao has so far trained a total of 280 locals who have become CEM certified exhibition managers.

【Expand long-haul international visitor markets】MGTO organizes familiarization visit and exchange for North American travel trade to facilitate connection
The Overseas Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Air Canada jointly arranged for a North American travel trade delegation’s trip to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The itinerary included an inspection visit to Macao, where they also attended a travel trade seminar today (14 September) and connected with their counterparts in Macao. Their visit and exchange is set to expand the long-haulinternational visitor market for Macao.

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today said Macao was devoting full effort to promoting the development of the city’s integrated tourism and leisure industry. Local bands to perform in evening concert at Lai Chi Vun Shipyards in September
In order to promote public appreciation and participation in culture and arts, as well as to build more performance platforms for local artistic and cultural practitioners, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will hold evening concerts at Lai Chi Vun Shipyards - Plots X11-X15 in the second half of each month, between July and November, gathering musicians from various regions and different languages to present a variety of music performances in multiple music genres and promote exchanges.

The 2023 Mainland-Macao Business Associations Joint Conference was held today (13 September) in Macao, attended by 68 delegates of trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce from both sides. Since the year 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the joint conference mechanism, in-depth discussions were conducted on topics including further innovating the mechanism’s form and content, expanding its coverage, and stimulating its vitality; encouraging Macao to better participate in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and better facilitate the exchange and co-operation between the mainland and Macao enterprises, by taking the opportunity of the Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development.

IAM to optimise pavement outside Dr. Carlos d'Assumpção Park to improve passage and increase green elements
In order to improve the current condition of inconvenient passage in the space outside Dr. Carlos d'Assumpção Park and the necessity for pedestrians to make a detour to cross the road, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will optimise the pavement outside the park to provide the public with more convenient passage and access to the park. In addition, the fences of the park will be removed to eliminate the sense of alienation and elevate openness. Moreover, green elements will be added to the surroundings of the park for beautification of the view to offer better walking and leisure environment for the public. IAM previously introduced the construction works to the Consultative Committee on Municipal Affairs of IAM, the Community Service Consultative Councils and associations of the district respectively and listened to their opinions. The construction works are expected to be carried out in phases starting from 18 September, striving to complete in January next year.
