UM, Tung Sin Tong co-organise charity sale and fundraiser to promote philanthropy
To promote philanthropy and foster a culture of caring, the University of Macau (UM) and Tung Sin Tong recently co-organised a charity sale for tailor-made herbal tea bags from Tung Sin Tong’s Chinese medicine pharmacy, as well as an annual fundraiser, on the university campus. A cheque presentation ceremony was recently held and all the donations will be used by Tung Sin Tong for charitable purposes such as medical services and free education.

A race against time, schoolchildren should be vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible
In order to cope with the changes of COVID-19, be responsible for schoolchildren’s health and race against time to fight the disease, there is an urgent need for having schoolchildren vaccinated. The Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) and the Health Bureau continue to promote COVID-19 vaccination for schoolchildren in order to reduce the risk of severe illness and death. Through vaccination outreach programmes, schoolchildren can be vaccinated in school, or during the special vaccination sessions in the community, “Schoolchildren Vaccination Day” in Macau Forum at weekends and in the holidays. It is convenient for parents to vaccinate their schoolchildren who have not been given vaccination against COVID-19.

UM research team puts forward three suggestions for coping with new situation of COVID-19 epidemic prevention
As the pathogenicity of the new Omicron strain has decreased significantly, many cities in mainland China and neighbouring regions of Macao have been adjusting their epidemic prevention strategies accordingly. In view of this, the COVID-19 research team of the University of Macau (UM) has put forward three suggestions for coping with the new situation of epidemic prevention and control in Macao.
