[Multi-venue Event] Macao and Hengqin Co-organise Business Meeting to Expand the Co-operative Network of the Catering Industry, Extending the Influence of the Fair

Jointly organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, the “2023 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair – Macao-Hengqin Catering Industry Business Matching Session” was held for the first time in Hengqin today (26 July), adopting the mode of “multi-venue event”. More than 70 representatives from catering associations, upstream and downstream enterprises of the industry, from Macao, Hengqin, and different cities of Guangdong, attended the event; which facilitated more than 60 business matching sessions.

The 2023 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair (2023GMBPF), jointly organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, came to a successful conclusion today (30 July). During the four-day exhibition and sales, more than 50 exciting activities and a series of business matching sessions were held. Around 100,000 visits were received, and 338 business matching sessions were arranged, facilitating 54 agreements. The business matching results more than doubled compared with last year.


Exchange for the Tiger and Rabbit Zodiac banknotes and the XXIV Olympic Winter Games banknotes ending next Friday

As scheduled, the exchange period for the Tiger and Rabbit Zodiac banknotes and the previously issued XXIV Olympic Winter Games banknotes will end on 11 August 2023 (Friday). The Monetary Authority of Macao would like to remind those registrants who have not yet conducted the note exchange to exchange for their subscribed notes at their previously selected bank during the remaining exchange period.


Macao Orchestra 2023-24 concert season will go on sale from 31 July Lio Kuokman as Music Director and Principal Conductor

Co-organised by Cultural Affairs Bureau, Macao Orchestra Company, Limited, Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd., MGM, Sands China Ltd., SJM Resorts, S.A., and Wynn Macau Ltd, and supported by Bank of China Macau Branch, the Macao Orchestra 2023-24 concert season is to kick off at the end of September 2023. Tickets will go on sale at the Macau Ticketing Network (Macauticket.com) from 31 July.



Invitational Exhibition by Local Artists of “Art Macao”Demonstrating Macao’s multifaceted artistic aspects and thoughts

The Invitational Exhibition by Local Artists, featured in the “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023”, is currently held at the “‧ART Space” on the 1st floor of the Macao Cultural Centre, showcasing new works by six local artists, namely Konstantin Bessmertny, Ung Vai Meng, Lampo Leong, Chan Hin Io, Bunny Lai Sut Weng and Eric Fok Hoi Seng, on the theme of this edition of the “Art Macao” “The Statistics of Fortune”. The organiser held a press meeting today (29 July), where the chief curator Qiu Zhijie and the six artists met with the media to share their creative insights.


“Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023” officially inaugurated creating a diverse cultural exchange and broadening international artistic perspectives

“Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023”, the mega international cultural and artistic event of the city, was inaugurated with an opening ceremony held at the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) today (28 July), and the Main Exhibition and the Invitational Exhibition by Local Artists were unveiled simultaneously. A total of 30 art exhibitions across the city will open successively from July to October, allowing the public to experience the diverse cultural exchanges in the city and enhancing the cultural tourism experience while embarking on a grand aesthetic journey.


UM’s Portuguese Language Summer Course ends

The Department of Portuguese of the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Arts and Humanities recently held a closing ceremony for the 37th Portuguese Language Summer Course. During the ceremony, students showcased their learning outcomes over the past three weeks through dance performances and poetry recitations. Certificates were also presented to those who had fulfilled the course requirement.



Commissioner Against Corruption Chan Tsz King received Commissioner of Hong Kong ICAC Woo Ying-ming

The Commissioner Against Corruption, Chan Tsz King, received the delegation of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong who visited Macao today (28th July) and had a meeting with the Commissioner of the ICAC, Woo Ying-ming. Both sides agreed to reinforce cooperation on the basis of the current foundation and join hands together to enhance practical exchange and personnel connection among the anti-corruption agencies of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in order to proactively take forward the integrity building of the Greater Bay Area.
