IAM conducts household surveys in enclosed building to prepare food supplies

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has formed a Subsistence Team together with the Public Security Police Force and the Social Welfare Bureau, which has conducted household surveys in the building in the red code zone to understand the actual number of residents and their basic needs, so as to provide living necessities. At the same time, IAM assists the Health Bureau in arranging for each resident of the enclosed building to undergo sample collection for nucleic acid screening against the virus in groups and in an orderly manner.

The Launch Ceremony of “Power in Our Hands, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sign Language Community Outreach eLearning Program - Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Tourism & Hospitality Chapters” and the Symposium on “Inclusive Tourism in GBA” were held today (26 October). Members of the travel trade can tap into the eLearning Program conveniently to learn sign language that conveys cultural tourism information about Macao, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin as well as the Greater Bay Area. Learners can become better equipped for efficient communication with deaf and hard of hearing people, in turn contributing to the betterment of Macao as an accessible travel destination and the concerted tourism development of Hengqin and Macao.


MSAR Government welcomes second issuance of offshore municipal government bonds in Macao by Guangdong Province

As a result of effort by the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), strongly supported by the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, the Guangdong Government will issue a three-year offshore renminbi-denominated municipal government bonds in Macao on 28 October 2022.


Nucleic acid testing for key area to be launched at 16:00 on 26 October

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre received a report from Zhuhai health authorities this morning (26 October) that a tube of 10-in-1 mixed sample, involving 8 people in Macao, has been tested positive. The Response and Coordination Centre immediately activated the emergency response mechanism and arranged for the 8 people concerned to undergo individual testing. Among them, a 66-year-old female Macao resident was found positive for COVID-19. The place where she lives – Edf. Weng Heng, No. 7 & 8 Rua Um do Bairro da Concórdia – has been classified as red-coded zone. For this reason, a nucleic acid testing drive will be launched at 16:00 on 26 October for the area which the positive case frequent, so as to identify any potential infected persons who may be lurking in the local community. Nucleic acid testing must be done once daily on 26, 27 and 28 October for individuals in the following key area:


IAM reinforces cleaning and disinfection of the buildings of the residences of confirmed cases

In view of the newest development of the novel coronavirus pandemic and in compliance with the prevention and control work, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) immediately coordinated with the Macao Residue System Company, Ltd. and cleaning contractors to send more staff to carry out large-scale cleaning and disinfection work in areas such as the buildings of the residences, the nearby streets and the common areas in the residential buildings today (26 October), so as to reduce the conditions of the spread of the pandemic as much as possible.


IPIM’s public services are relocated to the “Complex of the Macao Forum” from 31 October

From 31 October 2022, three departments under the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), namely the Promotional Activities and Development of Conventions and Exhibitions Department, the Investor Service Department and the Lusophone Markets Economic and Trade Promotion Department will be relocated to the 1/F and 2/F of the office building of the Complex of Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries in Rua Sul de Entre Lagos.


Results of gaming sector survey 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that number of enterprises engaged in gaming activities stayed at 9 in 2021. Total receipts of the gaming sector increased by 42.0% year-on-year to MOP90.81 billion owing to the recovery of tourism activity following a rebound in number of visitor arrivals to Macao; gaming receipts (MOP87.54 billion) grew by 45.1% whereas interest receipts (MOP2.61 billion) dropped by 1.7%. Despite a pickup compared to 2020, total receipts in 2021 corresponded to only about 30% of those in 2019.



CCAC again detects a subsidy scam involving the Continuing Education Development Plan

The CCAC once again detected a case where a local education centre and nearly 170 residents allegedly defrauded subsidies from the Continuing Education Development Plan, which involved over MOP1 million.
