The 11th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (referred to as the “Expo” or “MITE”) will take place at Halls A and B, Cotai Expo of the Venetian Macao from 30 June – 2 July 2023. With Macao’s lifting of travel restrictions, MITE once again welcomes tourism and related industry delegates from near and far to navigate business opportunities in Macao under the theme “MITE connects the World” with six major highlights.

IAM holds food sector exchange meetings for building a joint food safety system
The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) continues to step up communication and exchange of views with the food sector. On the occasion of the World Food Safety Day, IAM held two exchange meetings for the local food sector on 12 June, inviting more than 320 representatives from the local hospitality sector, food and beverage sector, chambers of commerce of food import suppliers and relevant sectors to attend. During the meetings, attendants exchanged views on topics such as effective implementation of guidelines on food safety operation and prevention of foodborne diseases, so as to promote the improvement of the internal food safety management system in the sector, and to jointly maintain the image of Macao as a “Creative City of Gastronomy”.

UM presents Teaching Excellence Award
At the Congregation 2023 held today (10 June), the University of Macau (UM) presented the Teaching Excellence Award, which recognises one faculty member with outstanding performance in teaching. The recipient in the 2022/2023 academic year is Assistant Professor Yang Xi in the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA).

Exhibitions, Sales and Talks go hand in hand IPIM promotes Macao's economic and trade resources through the “Macao Week in Shandong•Qingdao”
The “Macao Week in Shandong•Qingdao” roadshow will be held from 8 to 12 June at the Olympic Sailing Centre Square in Shinan District, Qingdao. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will organise 28 Macao enterprises, including manufacturers in Macao, Macao brands and agents of products from Portuguese-speaking countries, to showcase and sell their products. Meanwhile, the “Qingdao-Macao MICE, Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar” will be held to enlarge the East China market for Macao enterprises. This event aims to promote Macao as an ideal place for business and tourism, and the development of Macao's cultural and tourism industry.
