Booth Availability Doubled Exhibitor’s Fee for Macao SME Exhibition Area at the 27th MIF Lowered to MOP 500
The 27th “Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” (MIF) organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will be held at Cotai Expo, the Venetian Macao from 20 to 22 October 2022. At this year’s MIF, number of booths in the "Macao SME Exhibition Area" is doubled to 160 and a discounted exhibitor’s fee, MOP 500 – is offered to eligible Macao small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), helping them to explore business opportunities. Interested enterprises are welcome to register online from 8 to 22 August on IPIM’s online system.

Supplies delivery service for Edf. Polytec Garden (Bloco 1) suspended today to facilitate nucleic acid tests for households
As the Health Bureau has arranged for the households in the newly added Red Code Zone Edf. Polytec Garden (Bloco 1) to undergo nucleic acid sampling in the afternoon today (8 August), the Subsistence Team has to suspend the service of delivering supplies from relatives and friends for the households in Edf. Polytec Garden (Bloco 1) originally scheduled for 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Relevant households are advised to ask their relatives and friends not to send supplies to the site today.

Payment Card and Mobile Payment Statistics – 2nd Quarter 2022
According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the total numbers of personal credit cards and debit cards issued by banks in Macao increased in the second quarter of 2022. The credit card and debit card turnover both witnessed quarter-to-quarter decreases. On the other hand, the number and the value of transactions of local mobile payment tools continued to rise on a quarterly basis.

Key Area NAT for the vicinity of the Border Gate Checkpoint to be launched on 8 August

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre received a report from Zhuhai this morning (7 August) that a case tested positive for COVID-19 by nucleic acid test (NAT) has recent travel records between Macao and Zhuhai. Since the case has repeatedly travelled through the Barrier Gate Checkpoint on 5 and 6 August, in order to assess the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the local community, a Key Area NAT drive will be launched for individuals who live or work at the key areas frequently visited by the positive case.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre was notified by Zhuhai today (7 August) of a case who tested positive for COVID-19 by nucleic acid test. After investigation, the case is a 26-year-old male non-resident worker from the Mainland. Relevant travel records are announced as follows (detailed itineraries are available in the attachment):

All citizens in Macao are required to undergo COVID-19 rapid antigen testing each for today and tomorrow

In response to the changes of the COVID-19 situation in Macao and the neighbouring areas, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has decided that all citizens in Macao must conduct one COVID-19 rapid antigen testing (RAT) each for today and tomorrow (7 and 8 August), i.e. 2 RATs in total. Those who have undergone rapid antigen testing before participating in the nucleic acid testing (NAT) drive for key areas need not repeat the RAT today (7 August).

Health Bureau announces health services arrangement from 8 August

To cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures of the MSAR Government, all individuals who intend to enter Conde de São Januário General Hospital, Health Centres, Health Stations or other medical institutions under the Health Bureau – including staff and visitors – must present a valid Macao Health Code, wear a surgical mask or a higher standard mask, undergo body temperature checking, scan the venue QR code, and comply with other anti-epidemic measures. Adjustment will be made in a timely manner according to the guidelines of CDC.

NAT drive for key area to commence at 15:30 today

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre received a report from Zhuhai this morning (7 August) that a case tested positive for COVID-19 by nucleic acid test (NAT) has recent travel records between Macao and Zhuhai. Although the case has tested negative in the last dozen times of nucleic acid tests in Macao before 4 August, the risk of transmission in the areas where the case lives and works cannot be ruled out. Therefore, a nucleic acid testing drive will be launched for the key area where the case’s workplace is situated, so as to identify any potential infected persons who may be lurking in the local community.
