The Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau announces services arrangement during the extended consolidation period

During the extended consolidation period between 30 July and 1 August, the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau (ISAF) will continue to provide limited services to the public during office hours in order to minimise crowding and the risk of virus transmission:


85,616 samples collected as of 15:00 among persons in key areas, key groups and those leaving home for work; 29,047 of collected samples have been tested and returned as negative

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces that with regard to the NAT drive for persons in key areas, key groups, and those who need to leave home for work, a total of 85,616 samples have been collected as of 15:00 today (29 July); among them, 29,047samples have been analysed, and their results are negative. A cumulative total of 1,139,390 samples have been collected since 24 July.


HKUST (Guangzhou) President Lionel Ni to give talk on scientific innovation education on 8 August

The University of Macau (UM) on 8 August (Monday) will hold a talk titled ‘Digital Transformation of Post-COVID World: On Education for Scientific Innovation’ as part of the University Lecture Series. Lionel Ni, president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and chair professor of computer science and engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), will be the keynote speaker. During the talk, he will discuss scientific innovation education and talent nurture against the backdrop of digital transformation.


The CCAC to maintain limited services on 1st August

In view of the current prevention measures against the novel coronavirus pandemic, the CCAC will maintain limited external services to the public on 1st August. The Complaint Management Centre and the two Branch Offices will not accept complaints or reports filed by residents in person temporarily. Should residents wish to file reports or administrative complaints, they may use the online complaint service of the CCAC or call the Report Hotline at 2836 1212.


Employment survey for April – June 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that, owing to the current wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the general unemployment rate and the unemployment rate of local residents for April-June 2022 rose by 0.3 and 0.4 percentage points to 3.7% and 4.8% respectively compared to the previous period (March-May 2022). Besides, the underemployment rate increased by 0.7 percentage points to 4.1%.


IAM sets up 60 temporary collection points for large unwanted furniture items

To make it convenient for the public to dispose of large unwanted furniture items, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will set up 60 temporary collection points for large unwanted furniture items in the different districts of Macao from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. from August 1 to 7. Out of the 60 temporary collection points for large unwanted furniture items, 50 are located in the Macao Peninsula, 6 are located in Taipa and 4 are located in Coloane. IAM urges the public to dispose of unwanted furniture items properly at the mentioned time period and locations to avoid affecting pedestrian and traffic safety.


Arrangement of Judiciary Police's public services between 30 July and 1 August

To fully support the SAR government's efforts in tackling the epidemic and to ensure public safety, the Judiciary Police will deploy officers to assist anti-epidemic work, increase patrol, as well as strengthen crime prevention. In regards of public services, the Judiciary Police Case Reporting and Emergency Operation Centre, and Reporting Room will operate continuously between 30 July and 1 August. All appointments to come to the Judiciary Police to assist in police investigation (statement taking) or take the "paternity test” within this period will be rescheduled and individuals concerned will be notified on a workday. Some measures relaxed in 30 July to 1 August ‘consolidation’ period

Shops inside shopping malls and interior decoration companies will be able to resume limited operation from after the stroke of midnight on Saturday (30 July) until the end of 1 August 2022. This is on the basis of compliance with anti-epidemic guidelines issued by local health authorities.


IAM reopens gardens, parks, leisure areas and hiking trails during new “consolidation period” for leisure and stress relief of the public

During the three-day “consolidation period” starting from 30 July, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will further reopen gardens, parks, leisure areas and the hiking trails in Taipa and Coloane, providing the public with more venues for leisure, taking a walk and relaxation of the body and mind. However, the children’s play areas, fitness equipment, pavilions and other facilities will still be enclosed to avoid crowd gathering.


New positive cases within 24 hours yesterday (28 July)

According to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, the tally of new positive cases reported in Macao within 24 hours yesterday (28 July) includes: 2 cases in medical observation hotels, which were detected under management and control; 0 case of close contacts, in the NAT drive for people in key areas/ key groups, and among other population groups; in other words, no positive cases were found in the community.
