Travelers from Hong Kong, the region of Taiwan or foreign countries may undergo quarantine and medical observation at home starting 00:00 on 17 December

In response to the epidemic situation and the “New 10 Measures” released by the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism against COVID-19, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces that starting from 00:00 on 17 December, the “5+3” anti-epidemic measures for inbound travellers from Hong Kong SAR, the region of Taiwan or foreign countries will be revamped under the premise of continuing to align with the Mainland’s policy. Five days of home quarantine and medical observation plus three days of outbound travel restrictions (known as the “revamped 5+3 measures”) will be implemented in place of the original requirements of five days of centralized quarantine and medical observation plus three days of home quarantine and medical observation.



Macao Polytechnic University Wins “APQN Quality Awards”

Macao Polytechnic University has been conferred the “APQN Quality Awards – Best Practice of QA during COVID Pandemic” at the 2022 session of Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) held in Singapore. It is the only tertiary education institution in Macao to win the “APQN Quality Awards”.


MPU Students Won One Gold, One Silver and Two Bronzes at the 8th World Junior Wushu Championships

Macao Polytechnic University students Wong Weng Ian and Kuong Chi Hin represented the Macao SAR and competed at the 8th World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) held on 2-10 December 2022 in Indonesia. With their excellent technical performance, these two young athletes won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Wong Weng Ian triumphed in the Female Spear Event with the highest score of 9.169, and thus won a gold medal, the second gold for the Macao team at this championship. She also won two bronzes at Swords and Long Fist events. Kuong Chi Hin won a sliver for Macao in the Male Swords Event.

According to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as the centre), the SAR Government has been distributing ‘anti-epidemic kits’ to all eligible people in Macao since 8 December. Macao residents can obtain antigen test reagents from the ‘anti-epidemic kits’ or through the ‘Macao Residents Rapid Antigen Test Kits Supply Scheme’, and use these reagents when necessary if they exhibit any symptom or become a close contact.
