Mangoes imported from Taiwan test positive for novel coronavirus again, the whole batch is sealed and to be destroyed and has not entered the market
Samples collected from the external packaging of a batch of mangoes imported from Taiwan region tested positive for the novel coronavirus nucleic acid yesterday (1 July). The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) immediately initiated the contingency plan, and sealed the 5 boxes of affected mangoes weighing a total of 50 kilogrammes. The products concerned have not entered the market and are to be destroyed. IAM suspended the application for import from the brand concerned for one week starting from today.

IAM steps up clearance of garbage and trees collapsed during typhoon, continuously clears sewers and monitors operation of rainwater pumping stations
During the strike of “Chaba”, certain trees in Macao were damaged to various extents. After the typhoon, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has immediately sent staff to handle them and speed up the clearance of garbage in the city. Moreover, during the typhoon, IAM has continued to inspect and clear drains, as well as monitoring the operation of pumping stations, so as to ensure the effective discharge of accumulated water and alleviate flooding as soon as possible, reducing the impact on the life of the public.

Samples of external packaging of frozen beef tripe test positive for novel coronavirus and the whole batch has been destroyed and has not entered the market
Samples collected from the external packaging of a batch of frozen beef tripe imported from Argentina via Hong Kong tested positive for the novel coronavirus nucleic acid yesterday (1 July). The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) immediately initiated the contingency plan, and sealed the 60 boxes of affected frozen beef tripe weighing a total of 605 kilogrammes which are to be destroyed. None of the products concerned entered the market. IAM suspends the application of import of products from the processing plant concerned for one week starting from today.

NAT stations for residents with yellow code to remain closed after downgrade of typhoon no.8
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre states that the additional NAT stations for residents in yellow-coded zones (Mong-Ha Sports Centre -1/F, Seac Pai Van Public School, Macau Workers’ Children School (Kindergarten Section), Patane Activity Centre and Pui Ching Middle School) as well as the mobile NAT buses will remain closed tonight after the cancellation of typhoon signal no.8 at 8:30 pm.

Declaration of maintaining the state of immediate prevention
According to the assessment of the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau, the impact of Typhoon “Chaba” on the Macao Special Administrative Region has reduced. Typhoon Signal No. 3 is issued at 20:30 on 2 July 2022. In accordance with the dispatch of the Chief Executive, pursuant to Article 8, Article 9 and Sub-item 7 of Item 1 of Article 11 of Law No. 11/2020 “Civil Protection Legal Regime”, in order to safeguard the life and property of citizens, the state of immediate prevention which was declared in Chief Executive’s Dispatch No. 101/2022 to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus pneumonia is maintained as from 20:30 on 2 July 2022.

Health Bureau announces service arrangements after downgrade of typhoon signal No. 8
The Health Bureau announces that, all entrances of the Conde de São Januário General Hospital will be re-opened for the public after the downgrade of typhoon signal No. 8. The Accident and Emergency Department (including the Island Emergency Station), Inpatient Department and Haemodialysis Unit of the Conde de São Januário General Hospital will operate as usual. Specialist outpatient services, CHCSJ Pharmacy and the general services of the Radiology Department will remain suspended, with urgent services provided as normal.

Since the outbreak of this wave of the pandemic in Macao, with the full coordination and support of Nam Yue (Group) Co. Ltd., Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited and the trade in Macao, the supply and prices of the food have been kept stable even though the amount of supply of live and fresh food in Macao has greatly increased. Since 19 June, over 3,500 tonnes of vegetables, over 1,500 tonnes of fruit, over 9,000,000 eggs and over 4,700 live pigs have been supplied to Macao. The amount has increased 50% compared with the amount before the pandemic.
