“Discussion on tourism and economic revival” Tourism Development Committee convenes the second Plenary Meeting of 2022

The Tourism Development Committee (CDT, on its Portuguese acronym) convened the second Plenary Meeting of 2022 today (8 November), presided over by Secretary for Economy and Finance and Committee Chairperson, Lei Wai Nong. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) presented an overview of Macao’s latest tourism situation, unveiled its work plan for 2023 and listened to CDT members’ opinions on Macao’s tourism development and the scheme for tourism economic recovery.

Results of property management, security, cleaning, advertising and conference & exhibition organising services survey 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 590 establishments were engaged in Cleaning (303 establishments, up by 17 year-on-year), Security (61 establishments, up by 1) and Property Management Services (226 establishments, down by 10) in 2021. Total number of persons engaged rose by 590 year-on-year to 29,019.


Residential property price index for July – September 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for July - September 2022 decreased by 1.7% over the previous period (June - August 2022) to 250.4. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (249.7) and Taipa & Coloane (253.2) dropped by 2.1% and 0.3% respectively.


Phased implementation of residential address update in Macao Health Code begins tomorrow; Public urged to review and update information in advance to avoid delay in generation of health code

The Response and Coordination Centre reminds again that, starting from 9 November (tomorrow), the option “Give consent to the Health Bureau to retrieve personal information from the Identification Services Bureau if registered address falls into the affected area(s)” will be automatically removed from the “Macao Health Code” app. The public must fill in their correct and up-to-date residential address in Macao then, in order to generate a health code.


Opening of children’s playground in Lam Mau postponed to Sunday as affected by weather and online appointment for outdoor sandpit to be launched on Friday

Due to fickle weather in the last few days, the opening of the children’s playground of the temporary leisure area located in Avenida Marginal do Lam Mau is postponed to 13 November (Sunday). The public can make the appointment for the sandpit play zone via the “Advance Booking System for Visiting Green Facilities” (https://app.iam.gov.mo/gfbooking/) starting from the coming Friday.




UM student receives China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award

Chan Pak Ian, a first-year PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, and the Institute of Microelectronics at the University of Macau (UM) received the 13th China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award. He is one of the 89 awardees across the country and the only university student in Macao to receive this honour this year.
