Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic intheFai Fu Building,attheFai Chi KeiHousing for the Elderly on 5thJuly, the Social Welfare Bureau has been working closely with the “Brilho da Vida Elderly Centre” of Macau Caritaslocatedin the building andwithotherrelevant departments to support the elderly in the lockdown area, striving to protect their health and safety as well as maintain their daily life.

5th round of Citywide NAT has ended with 667,597 samples collected; cumulatively 41 tubes of mixed samples tested positive, the rest are negative; 6th round of Citywide NAT already started at 09:00 today (8 July)

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces the conclusion of the 5th round of Citywide NAT programme, which was held from 09:00 on 6 July to 18:00 on 7 July. During the period, 667,597 samples were collected; a total of 41 tubes of mixed samples have been tested positive, while the rest are negative.


Additional positive cases between 00:00-24:00 yesterday (7 July)

According to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, new positive cases within 24 hours yesterday (7 July) include: 31 cases in the Red Code zones and medical observation hotels, which were detected under management and control; 13 cases of close contacts, 33 cases in the Citywide NAT and Key Groups NAT, and 11 cases among other population groups, which were detected within the community.

All medical staff are equipped with professional knowledge and skills; national guidelines are strictly enforced when collecting nucleic acid samples

In response to the circulations about concerns over nucleic acid sample collectors may spread virus for not changing their gloves after each sampling, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre indicates that, all nucleic acid sample collectors conduct sampling in standardized manner by following the “Implementation Guidelines for the Organization of Regional Nucleic Acid Testing for COVID-19 (Third Edition)” formulated by the State Council’s the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism Comprehensive Team. Under relevant regulations, double-layer latex gloves should be put on whenever contact with blood, body fluids, secretions or excretions of patients; when gloves are contaminated, replace the outer pair of latex gloves timely; perform strict hand disinfection or change gloves after each sampling.


Some sampling stations will have their opening hours adjusted during the 6th round of Citywide NAT Programme to suit citizens' needs and habits

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre stated that, the 6th round of Citywide NAT Programme will take place between 09:00 on July 8 (Friday) and 18:00 on July 9 (Saturday). The booking system (https://eservice.ssm.gov.mo/allpeoplernatestbook) will open at 07:00 tomorrow (July 8). There are altogether 63 NAT stations in Macao, while after analysing the data of citizens’ booking time, the opening hours of some of the NAT stations will be adjusted to suit citizens’ needs and habits. All citizens please take note of such adjustment.


IAM calls on public to go to markets at off-peak hours to avoid crowd gatherings

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has been strictly following the pandemic prevention guidelines of the Health Bureau, and has adopted a series of anti-pandemic measures in various public markets, calling on the public to go shopping in the markets at off-peak hours and abide by the pandemic prevention guidelines to reduce crowd gatherings. IAM does not rule out the possibility to adopt crowd control measures if necessary to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.
