Tap Siac Craft Market in spring calls for stall operators and creative handicraft workshops
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market in spring will be held from 20 to 23 April and from 27 to 30 April at Tap Siac Square. The calls for stall operators and creative handicraft workshops are open from 1 to 21 February and from 1 to 14 February, respectively. All interested parties are welcome to apply, and applications are free of charge.

IFTM and two Swiss Higher Education Institutions Join forces to offer 3+1 Dual Bachelor Programme
Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) has recently signed a new Articulation Agreement with two Swiss leading institutions, Les Roches Global Hospitality Education (Les Roches) and Glion Institute of Higher Education (GIHE), to provide top-up study plan to our students of Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management following a "3+1" learning model. Upon successful completion of the first3 years at IFTM as well as the stipulated requirements of Les Roches or GIHE in any campus (Switzerland, Spain or United Kingdom), students can obtain the bachelor's degree awarded by IFTM and that awarded by Les Roches or GIHE.

Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for December 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 123 hotel establishments offered accommodation services to the public in December 2022, an increase of 5 year-on-year. However, the total number of available guest rooms decreased by 3.2% to 37,000 as some of the rooms of a large hotel were used for medical observation. Data on hotel establishments designated for medical observation and self-health monitoring were excluded in the compilation of the results. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms in December dropped by 12.0 percentage points year-on-year to 42.8%; the rate for 5-star hotels dipped by 13.9 percentage points to 39.2%, which was lower than the sector’s average.

Spring Festival Golden Week – Visitor arrivals surged threefold year-on-year Average hotel occupancy rate reached 86%
Welcoming the arrival of the first Spring Festival Golden Week since the pandemic border measures loosened, Macao radiated the fascinating glamour of “tourism +” thoroughly. Visitor figures have surpassed the expectation. Spanning seven days (21 – 27 January 2023) in the Mainland, the Spring Festival Golden Week has come to an end. According to the preliminary statistics, Macao recorded 451,000 visitor arrivals in total during the period, remarkably up by 297.0 % over the Spring Festival Golden Week of last year. The average occupancy rate of local hotel establishments reached 85.7%.

The 2023 Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Rabbit took place tonight, the 7th day of Lunar New Year (28 January). 18 uniquely-gorgeous floats filled the northern district with best wishes and carried on the festivity, leading residents and visitors into the community for a memorable night of Chinese New Year. The event created a stimulus for consumer spending and the community economy.

DSI calls for eligible citizens to use electronic means to apply for identification documents
In response to the increase in the number of applications for Macao SAR Resident Identity Cards and Macao SAR Travel Documents recently, the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) calls for eligible citizens to use electronic means to apply for identification documents to avoid queuing for number tickets.
