Macao Museum holds a carnival this weekend to promote cultural heritage
On the occasion of the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day”, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will hold the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Carnival 2022” from 11 and 12 June at the Mount Fortress Garden and the Macao Museum, in order to enhance the public’s knowledge of Macao’s cultural heritage. The event features a range of activities including game booths, experiential workshops, guided tours and theatre. The Carnival opening ceremony will be held on 11th, at 3 pm, at the Mount Fortress Garden, during which various prizes of the “2021 Guided Tour for Children in Practice Project” will also be awarded. The Macao Museum will be open to the public with free admission during the abovementioned period. All are welcome to visit.

Government is dedicated to ensuring employment of locals

The Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Lei Wai Nong, today said the Labour Affairs Bureau had in 2021 been successful in helping some 3,200 unemployed people get freshly hired; while in the first five months this year, 3,277 local residents had been successful in finding a job.

Registration for short video competition “hush! 300 Seconds” open on 13 June

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the “hush! Summer Concert” will be held in July in different districts across Macao, including Hac Sa Beach and Coloane Village, featuring a number of music events. Registration for the short video competition “hush! 300 Seconds” will be open from 13 June (next Monday), and all music aficionados are welcome to participate.

IFTM Graduation Ceremony 2022
Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) held its Graduation Ceremony 2022 at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion on 8 June. A total of 468 graduating students of Master of Science (MSc), postgraduate, undergraduate,and diploma programmes received their degrees, embarking on a new journey in life amid the cheers, applause and blessings of the faculty, their relatives and friends, as well as guests from all walks of life.

Residential property price index for February – April 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for February - April 2022 increased by 0.5% over the previous period (January - March 2022) to 261.0. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (261.7) and Taipa & Coloane (258.2) rose by 0.3% and 1.3% respectively.

Detailed Results of 2021 Population Census

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) conducted the 16th Population Census and the 6th Housing Census in August 2021, with the aim of collecting detailed demographic information. Detailed results of the 2021 Population Census are released following the preliminary results announced at the end of last year. In addition, relevant data are uploaded to the Statistical Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Population Statistics Database of the DSEC website to facilitate quick access to population statistics.

IFTM supports local jewellery design brand to conduct market research and develop marketing mix
IFTM students from the Tourism Business Management programme engaged in an industrial project via their entrepreneurship course to assist Cloé Jewelry & Art, a local jewellery brand, in conducting market research and developing a marketing mix. The project was led by the course lecturer Dr. Fernando Lourenço with the objective to continuously support local businesses.
