Three programmes of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival cancelled as the artistic groups are unable to come to Macao

Due to the epidemic prevention and control measures in Mainland China and to the fact that the artistic groups will not be able to visit Macao, the programmes Xiao Ke, Electra and I Am a Moon, integrated in the 32nd Macao Arts Festival, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be cancelled. IC will arrange refunds for those who have purchased tickets for the programmes. Spectators with tickets may contact the Macau Ticketing Network for refund procedures from 28 April to 30 June at different times.

Fringe activities spark vibes for Light up Macao Drone Gala 2022 Extravaganza poised to enchant audience on Labor Day Holidays
Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the Light up Macao Drone Gala 2022 (the “Drone Gala”) will present an array of eight spectacular drone shows above Nam Van Lake on four nights — Labor Day Holidays (1 and 2 May) and the ensuing weekend (7 and 8 May). Big Big Drone Exhibition and Drone Formation Display have kicked off as fringe activities to spark vibes for the extravaganza, while the prize-giving game is now online, all welcoming residents and visitors to join.

Transport and communications statistics for March 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that licensed motor vehicles in Macao totalled 247,230 as at end-March 2022, up by 1.1% year-on-year; light automobiles (113,127) and heavy motorcycles (106,207) increased by 1.3% and 2.7% respectively. New registration of motor vehicles in March dropped by 21.9% year-on-year to 1,025, of which 184 were electric vehicles. There were 565 heavy motorcycles (32 of them were electric) and 443 light automobiles (149 of them were electric), representing decreases of 20.9% and 21.5% respectively. In the first quarter of 2022, new registration of motor vehicles went down by 14.5% year-on-year to 2,998. Number of traffic accidents in March went up by 11.2% year-on-year to 1,065, with one person killed and 351 persons injured. In the first quarter of 2022, there were 2,987 traffic accidents, which resulted in one death and 1,001 injuries.

Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for March 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 120 hotel establishments offered accommodation services to the public in March 2022, an increase of 1 year-on-year; number of available guest rooms rose by 8.7% to 39,000. Data on hotel establishments designated for medical observation and self-health monitoring were excluded in the compilation of the results. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms dropped by 24.8 percentage points year-on-year to 30.4% in March on account of a decrease in the number of overnight visitors.
