DSEC and AMCM Jointly Hold Seminars on Official Statistics for Tertiary Institutions

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) and the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) held two sessions of “Official Statistics Seminar for Tertiary Institutions” in the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) and the University of Macau (UM), with the aim of enhancing the understanding of official statistics and Macao’s economic and financial statistical indicators among students of tertiary institutions. The seminars received favourable responses, with about 150 students in economics and business-related majors attending.


Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2022 opens in May revealing the power of museums and the beauty of humanity

In order to celebrate the International Museum Day on 18 May, 20 museums in Macao co-organize the annual event of the museum sector, the “Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2022”. The opening ceremony will be held on 29 May (Sunday), at 2pm, at the Iao Hon Market Park. The event will feature a wide range of intriguing activities, including game booths, workshops, guided tours and a WeChat game with lucky draws. Tap Siac Craft Market in spring continues to be held from Thursday to Sunday

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market will continue to be held from 28 April to 1 May (Thursday to Sunday) at Tap Siac Square, featuring a new group of cultural and creative brands. The public is welcome to visit and enjoy the creative atmosphere while shopping for cultural and creative products.

“Macao Library Week” talk explores similarities, differences and collaborations between libraries

Jointly organised by the Macao Public Library of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the University of Macau Library, the “Talk on Reading Literacy in Public Libraries and University Libraries”, integrated in the “Macao Library Week 2022”, was held on 26 April in the Auditorium of the University of Macau Library. The Head of the Department of Public Library Management of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Loi Chi Pang, and the University Librarian of the University of Macau Library, Wu Jianzhong, were invited to exchange their insights at the talk, which was hosted by Ma Wan Cham, Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Macau. The talk focused on the similarities and differences between public libraries and university libraries in developing reading literacy from their perspectives, roles and positions. The event received an enthusiastic response from the public.


Macao Grand Prix Museum celebrates International Museum Day Free admission for the public on 18 May

In celebration of International Museum Day on 18 May, the Macao Grand Prix Museum under Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)’s management will join other local museums to unfold the Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2022 on 29 May. The Macao Grand Prix Museum will organize parent-and-child workshops in May and open to the public for free visits with a twisted balloon activity on 18 May.
