Eight routine NAT stations to resume service with extended operation hours after the citywide testing programme
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) said that the health codes of individuals who have not taken a COVID-19 test within the time limit have been changed to yellow, and again urges all relevant persons to book for self-paid test immediately (Link for booking: https://eservice.ssm.gov.mo/rnatestbook/V21/) or else they shall be subject to medical observation at a designated venue for 14 days under relevant regulations.

Cultural Affairs Bureau cancels arts and cultural performances including “The Butterfly Lovers” due to epidemic prevention and control
In line with the SAR Government’s epidemic prevention and control measures, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will cancel various arts and cultural performances, including “The Butterfly Lovers”. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the performing groups were unable to visit Macao. The “Performance to Celebrate the 72nd Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China” - Contemporary Acrobatic Show “The Butterfly Lovers”, scheduled for 1 October, will be cancelled. OM Young Friends Concert “Classical Express – Rhythm of Tango” by Macao Orchestra scheduled for 30 September, and the concert “Chen Sa” Piano Recital, integrated in the Macao International Music Festival – Music October, scheduled for 3 October, will also be cancelled.

A total of 454 serviced persons in Temporary Shelter
During 25th September to the noon on 28th, there is a total of 454 serviced persons, including 351 male and 103 female, in the Temporary Shelter of Social Welfare Bureau located at Rua Leste da Ilha Verde, Edifício do Bairro da Ilha Verde. Among them, the largest number of serviced persons reached 164 persons a day, mainly were the employees who originally lived in Mainland China.

Do not intentionally fabricate and disseminate, or spread false information about the epidemic on purpose, otherwise one may assume criminal liability

In view of the state of immediate prevention which the Macao SAR Government is still undergoing at the moment, the Civil Protection Operations Centre calls on the public that they must not deliberately fabricate and disseminate the related false information, and intend to arouse public fear or disturbance, or spread the related information even though they are fully aware that they are false enough to give rise to public fear or disturbance, otherwise they may contravene Article 26 of Law no. 11/2020 (Civil Protection Legal Regime) and assume criminal liability. Members of the public are advised to stay tuned to the official messages and information and must not believe in rumours.

Macao SAR Government continually conducts outreach NAT service for the persons with reduced mobility

In order to support the citywide nucleic acid test (NAT) plan for the entire population, Social Welfare Bureau and Health Bureau together cooperate with Macao Federation of Trade Unions to organize “Macao SAR Government Outreach NAT Service Team”. On 27th September 2021, the team provided the outreach NAT service for 1,612 elderly and disabled persons with reduced mobility who are living in 18 facilities. Today the team is providing the service for the rest of about 900 persons, in order to complete the outreach NAT service for the total of 2500 residential persons who are separately living in 28 residential facilities.

Employment survey for June-August 2021
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the general unemployment rate for June-August 2021 was 2.8% and the unemployment rate of local residents was 3.7%, down by 0.1 and 0.2 percentage points respectively from the previous period (May-July 2021). Meanwhile, the underemployment rate increased by 0.2 percentage points to 3.7%.

Two more Yellow Code Zones as the 69th and 70th COVID-19 cases were confirmed, both import-related

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) stated that Macao has recorded two more import-related COVID-19 cases this afternoon (28 September), identified as the 69th and 70th cases. Both cases were detected during the isolation period. In order to strengthen prevention, new Yellow Code Zones have been set up accordingly in line with the zone-specific, multi-level targeted approach to epidemic prevention and control.

The DSEDJ clarified that there is still no new arrangement for suspension of classes or face-to-face teaching

Some media reported today (28th September) about the arrangements for suspension of classes or face-to-face teaching. The Education and Youth Development Bureau (the “DSEDJ”) clarified that, for the time being, non-tertiary education schools have their classes suspended until 3rd October, and tertiary education institutions have already suspended face-to-face teaching activities. The DSEDJ is still studying the situation and making judgements dynamically based on the epidemic development, and has not made the final decision yet. If there are any updates, they will be announced through governmental channels in due course.

Beware of fraudulent calls purportedly from fake government department
A member of the “Judiciary Police Friends of Crime Prevention for Women” informed the Judiciary Police that she had recently received a call with a local mobile ID where the caller, speaking in Cantonese, claimed to be calling from the “Bureau of Telecommunications Regulation”. The caller warned her that her phone had shown signs of anomaly and would soon stop working, and she should press “2” to obtain further details. Finding the call suspicious, the member immediately hung up the phone and reported the incident.
