“Chinese Culture Class Experience Activity” held by Seniors Academy of MPU

Chinese culture has a long history and a profound influence on different cultural fields. The Seniors Academy (ACS) of the Macao Polytechnic University recently held the “Chinese Culture Class Experience Activity” at the Taipa campus. About 120 students participated in the activity and the scene was lively.




Mortgage loans statistics – April 2022

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased in April 2022. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed declines.


CE visits Guangzhou to meet Guangdong officials

UM holds preservation ceremony for rare Portuguese manuscript

The University of Macau (UM) Library today (9 June) held a preservation ceremony for a rare Portuguese manuscript titled ‘Official Report of the Embassy of King John V of Portugal to Emperor Yongzheng in 1725-1728’. The manuscript, donated by the University of Macau Development Foundation, details the arrival of the Portuguese ambassador Alexandre Metelo de Sousa e Menezes in Beijing via Macao to visit the Yongzheng Emperor and is of great significance to the study of early Sino-Portuguese relations.



Macao Museum holds a carnival this weekend to promote cultural heritage

On the occasion of the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day”, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will hold the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Carnival 2022” from 11 and 12 June at the Mount Fortress Garden and the Macao Museum, in order to enhance the public’s knowledge of Macao’s cultural heritage. The event features a range of activities including game booths, experiential workshops, guided tours and theatre. The Carnival opening ceremony will be held on 11th, at 3 pm, at the Mount Fortress Garden, during which various prizes of the “2021 Guided Tour for Children in Practice Project” will also be awarded. The Macao Museum will be open to the public with free admission during the abovementioned period. All are welcome to visit.
