MPU Hosts the “15th National Games” Macao-wide English Speech Contest with Registration Now Open

Seizing the opportunity of this year’s joint hosting of the National Games by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) is organizing the 24th Macao-wide English Speech Contest, themed the “15th National Games,” which also serves as the Macao regional round of the “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition. The event is organized by the MPU-Bell Centre of English and is now open for registration. All primary, secondary, and university students in Macao are warmly invited to participate. As one of Macao’s longest-running English speech competitions, this event aims to enhance participants’ English communication skills, logical thinking, and public speaking abilities, providing a platform for local youths aspiring to engage in language, culture, and international exchange to showcase their talents.


Clarification statement

In response to online claims that “a senior citizen over 80 years old sustained injury after falling while going out due to a verbal slip made during the broadcast by the Civil Protection Operations Centre”, we take this matter seriously and have initiated an immediate investigation. Over 140 Business Matching Meetings at the “Hubei-Macao Business Matching Conference” Foster Co-operation between Macao and Hubei

The “Hubei-Macao Business Matching Conference” hosted by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of Macao was held on 5 September during the “Hubei-Wuhan Macao Week”. Nearly 200 business associations and corporate representatives from Hubei and Macao gathered at the venue, joining over 140 business matching talks at the “Hubei-Macao Business Matching Conference” to explore co-operation opportunities in various fields including trade, catering, and large supermarkets. The event aims to enhance the Macao SAR government’s “1+4” strategy for economic diversification, building a platform for interaction and communication between Hubei and Macao enterprises, and create business opportunities for Macao enterprises in Wuhan, particularly in the halal food market.



Hubei, Macao and Hengqin Industries Operators Participate in the Promotion Seminar to Promote New Synergistic Models

The “2025 Macao-Hengqin Promotion Seminar (Wuhan)” took place in Wuhan on 5 September under the theme “Wuhan, Macao and Hengqin Collaborating to Chart a Regional Development Blueprint”, attracting over 150 representatives from the government departments and the MICE sector from these three regions, covering a number of fields such as MICE, tourism, cross-border e-commerce, and scientific and technological research and development. They have explored innovative approaches for co-operation in the MICE industry between Hubei, Macao and Hengqin, with a view to attracting more convention and exhibition projects to be held in Macao and Hengqin.


Subscription period for the Year of the Horse commemorative coins ends this Friday (12 September)

The online subscription period for the 2026 Year of the Horse commemorative coins will end at 6:00pm on 12 September 2025 (Friday). They engaged in in-depth discussions on developing new paths for the co-operation revolving around three major aspects, namely, enhancing Guangdong-Macao co-operation in the fields of MICE, economy and trade, advancing international investment promotion, and exploring global avenues for the big health industry.


WTT Champions Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group commences today

WTT Champions Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, organized by the Sports Bureau, World Table Tennis (WTT) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, kicked off today (9 September) at the Macao East Asian Games Dome. The first day featured multiple men's and women's singles Round of 32 matches. China’s Lin Shidong, Wang Chuqin and Wang Yidi, as well as Zhu Yuling of Macao, China, delivered stable performances on the opening day, successfully advancing to the Round of 16. The tournament will continue tomorrow (10 September) with more Round of 32 matches.


CE: Civil servants should fulfil duty to support Legislative Assembly Election and exercise their right to vote

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, today said voting is both a civic right and a duty, urging all eligible voters, including civil servants, to actively participate in the upcoming Legislative Assembly Election by casting their ballots to elect representatives to the city’s legislature.
