Response assessment to tropical cyclone “Tapah”
Due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone “Tapah”, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau issued Typhoon Signal No. 8 at 9 p.m. on 7 September. In response to the natural disaster and to safeguard the life and property of citizens, in accordance with the Chief Executive Dispatch, pursuant to Article 8, Item 1 of Article 9, and Sub-item 7 of Item 1 of Article 11 of Law No. 11/2020 (Civil Protection Law), the Chief Executive declared that the Macao SAR entered into immediate prevention stage. All entities of civil protection structure reported to the Civil Protection Operations Centre and adopted various response measures. On the same day, the Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, visited the Civil Protection Operations Centre at 7 p.m. to conduct an inspection and preside over a work meeting. He listened to reports from entities of civil protection structure regarding their response measures, instructed them to exert all efforts in safeguarding the life and property of citizens, and called on all Macao residents to implement disaster prevention and reduction measures.

The Macao Grand Prix Museum (referred to as the “Museum”) partners with Pirelli, the Italian tyre manufacturer with its legacy of speed for over a century, in holding the “Macao Grand Prix Museum X The Pirelli Legend” – Racing Tyres Theme Exhibition. A variety of motorsport tyres are exhibited for museum visitors to gain a closer picture of motor racing culture in different dimensions. The public is welcome to visit the exhibition running from 10 September 2025 to 2 March 2026.

The Treasure of Sacred Art of St. Joseph’s Seminary will be closed to the public from September 17
In response to the demand of the Macau Catholic Diocese for the use of St. Joseph’s Seminary, the “Treasure of Sacred Art of St. Joseph’s Seminary” established by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Macau Catholic Diocese will be closed to the public from September 17. The exhibition contents of the treasure can be reviewed on the website of the Diocesan Department of Historical Archives and Cultural Heritage.

Two subsidy schemes of IAM to open for applications from mid-September
With the aim of encouraging and assisting local associations to hold characteristic activities, enriching the leisure life of the public and promoting the harmonious development of the community, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) continues to launch the “Municipal Affairs Bureau Subsidy Scheme 2026” and the “Subsidy Scheme for Operation Allowance of Large-scale Integrated Community Service Facility in 2026”. The two subsidy schemes will be open for applications starting from 15 September and the deadline for receipt of documents is on 15 October.
