Macao Polytechnic Institute Held “The 13th Macao-wide IT Competition – Alice 3D Programming Contest” Awards Ceremony
The Award Ceremony of the "13th Macao-wide IT Competition – Alice 3D Programming Contest", hosted by the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), co-organized by the International Gaming Standards Association (iGSA), supported by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, was held at MPI on the afternoon of 22 July, 2021. It was officiated by Lei Ngan Lin, Vice-President of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Wan Kam Meng, Honorary Fellow of the Guangdong Institution of Engineers and President of the Macao Computer Society, Lai Iok In, the Head of the Information and Technology Division of the Education and Youth Development Bureau, Lei Kuong Leong, the Head of Information Technology Development Division of the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, Chan Keng Lim, Vice Principal of Pui Ching Middle School, Li Iok Meng, Vice Principal of Santa Rosa de Lima English Secondary School, Tam Seak Tim and Kong Iam Iok, Vice Principals of Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai. Participation in this competition was enthusiastic, with a total of nearly 80 teams and over 300 people registering for the competition. The First Prize winners of the secondary school category are Qian Jiahong, Ho Kwan Yuen, Tou Wai Chon and their mentor Fong Wai Sao from Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai. Their work is "Frozen Human Meets Forward-Looking Technology". The First Prize of the open category was won by Lou Wai Fo and Hoi Nei Tat for their work "Smart Baby Happy Fun V2.0".

The vanguard of dance at CCM Urban twirls and sways

UM’s 35th Portuguese Language Summer Course ends with success
The 35th Portuguese Language Summer Course, organised by the University of Macau (UM) Department of Portuguese, has ended with success. This year’s summer course attracted 123 students from Japan, Myanmar, mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia, Poland, Hong Kong, and Macao. Approximately 60 per cent of the participants attended language courses at intermediate and advanced levels.

“Incubation Plan for Macao’s KOL in Tourism” draws lots today (28 July) for content creation training camp
As part of the “Incubation Plan for Macao’s KOL in Tourism” (referred to as the “Plan”) organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and coordinated by Macau Live Streaming Association, the content creation training camp has attracted applications from a total of 303 enthusiastic residents. As the number of applicants exceeded the quota of 50, electronic lots were cast at MGTO today (28 July) to decide the list of trainees.

External merchandise trade statistics for June 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export amounted to MOP1.19 billion in June 2021, up by 62.2% year-on-year. Value of re-exports (MOP1.02 billion) rose by 69.3%, with that of Watches and Diamond & diamond jewellery surging by 173.7% and 138.4% respectively. Moreover, value of domestic exports (MOP167 million) grew by 28.8%, with that of Copper & articles thereof rising by 96.7%. Total merchandise import swelled by 199.6% year-on-year to MOP15.10 billion, of which imports of Mobile phones, Gold jewellery, Watches and Beauty, cosmetic & skincare products rocketed by 1,851.4%, 1,575.3%, 817.4% and 358.2% respectively; in contrast, imports of Articles for casino declined by 45.1%. Merchandise trade deficit in June 2021 totalled MOP13.91 billion.
