The Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index Report Released, Demonstrating Macao’s Role in Infrastructure Development
The launch ceremony of “The Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index 2021” and “The Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index Report 2021” was held today (22 July) during the 12th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (12th IIICF). In addition to forecasting the short-term trends of the infrastructure sector, the Report also highlights Macao elements, and provides suggestions on how Macao can seize such opportunities as the 14th Five-Year Plan and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Art Macao Creative City Pavilion officially opens Showing the imagery of contemporary art cities in four exhibitions
“Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021”, followed by the successive launch of the Main Exhibition, Special Exhibition of Resorts and Hotels, Creative City Pavilion, Public Art Exhibition, Selected Works by Local Artists and Collateral Exhibition, triggers an upsurge of contemporary art, creating an immersive cultural atmosphere to the entire city as a gallery and an art garden. For the “Creative City Pavilion”, featured in “Art Macao” for the first time this year, the exhibition “Macao: City of Gastronomy - Bon Appétit!” was inaugurated on 22 July, at the Macao Contemporary Art Center - Navy Yard No. 1, kicking off a series of exhibitions in the “Creative City Pavilion”. The exhibition will be open to the public from 23 July. Admission is free and all are welcome to visit.

Registration for Direct Admission to bachelor’s degree programmes to open tomorrow
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread across the world, with ‘epidemic rebound’ occurring in a number of countries and regions, the University of Macau (UM) will accept applications from affected students for Direct Admission to bachelor’s degree programmes for the 2021/2022 academic year, taking into account the need of some fresh high school graduates who wish to study at overseas universities as well as the need of local students enrolled in bachelor’s degree programmes of non-local universities to stay in Macao for further studies. Applicants must meet the requirements for Direct Admission. The registration period is from 23 July to 26 July (6:00 pm).

Secretary urges the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as vaccination rate in Macao stands at 40 percent
The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ms Ao Ieong U, said a batch of 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine produced by Sinopharm has recently been delivered to Macao. She called on members of the Macao public not yet vaccinated against COVID-19, to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Grace period for the exchange of the Rat and Ox Zodiac banknotes and the 20th Anniversary of the Return to the Motherland of Macao banknotes
As scheduled, the exchange period for the Rat and Ox Zodiac banknotes and the previously issued 20th Anniversary of the Return to the Motherland of Macao banknotes will end on 23 July 2021 (Friday). For the convenience of those registrants who have not yet conducted the note exchange, a grace period will be granted between 26 July 2021 and 30 July 2021 to allow for the exchange of their subscribed notes at their previously selected bank.
