The “Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu” will be unveiled tomorrow (24 September) to promote Macao’s diverse dimensions of “tourism +” and raise the city’s profile as a safe and quality destination in Chengdu. Among the highlights, the series of gastronomic promotions entitled “A Delicious Inheritance of Sichuan, Cantonese and Macanese Gastronomy” was unveiled with a kick-off ceremony today (23 September) to radiate the glamour of Macao and Chengdu as UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy.

Macao Creative Pavilion at the China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair brings opportunities for the development of Macao’s Cultural and Creative Industries

The 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) will be held from 23 to 27 September. The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Cultural Industries Fund of the Macao SAR Government jointly set up the “Macao Creative Pavilion”, leading Macao’s cultural and creative products and services to “go global”, and bringing opportunities for the development of Macao’s cultural and creative industries.


UM holds annual meeting of AULP virtually

The University of Macau (UM) recently held virtually the 30th annual meeting of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Universities (Associação das Universidades de Língua Portuguesa, AULP). Titled ‘Dialogue of Cultures and Promotion of Portuguese Language Teaching in China’, the meeting attracted participants from Macao and eight countries. They included members of the Executive Council of AULP and representatives of Portuguese-speaking universities. In addition, Rui Martins, vice rector of UM, was nominated an honorary member of AULP for his significant contribution to the association over the years.


IPIM Fosters Chengdu-Macao Closer Co-operation in Trade in Products and Services via the Macao Week

To foster Chengdu-Macao closer co-operation in trade in products and services, and enhance Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSC), the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has introduced even more new elements and measures in the “Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu”. Nearly one third of roadshow exhibitors are Macao enterprises joining the event for the first time, enriching the roadshow with more PSCs projects seminars, and newly added exhibition of professional services including finance and legal services.


Tickets for the Macao International Music Festival are available from Saturday Diverse ticketing channels available simultaneously

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the special edition of the Macao International Music Festival, themed “Music October”, will be held from 3 to 31 October. Tickets will be on sale simultaneously through the Macau Ticketing Network outlets, telephone and online booking from 10am on 25 September (Saturday). In order to cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control measures, and to reduce crowd gathering, an online reservation system has been set up for the first day of ticket sales. Members of the public who want to purchase tickets at the outlets from 10am to 12pm on the first day of ticket sales are required to reserve their ticketing slots and outlets through the online reservation system.


“Art Macao” offers diverse visiting experiences in early autumn

The “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021”, themed “To Create for Well-being”, presents a total of 30 art exhibitions under different themes from July to October, including the exhibition “Selected Works by Local Artists” which promotes local contemporary art, and the “Creative City Pavilion” which displays the cultural landscapes of creative cities, providing an artistic experience for art lovers roaming around Macao in early autumn.
