How to Apply

Application Procedures and Documents Required

A number tag is required in advance. For the methods to obtain the tag number, please refer to “Methods to Obtain Tag Number and Appointment” of the website of the Identification Services Bureau (DSI). Also, the usage of the Certificate of Criminal Record (Please refer to the list of usages) should be provided when lodging the application.

  • Application made by applicant’s direct relative (i.e. parents or children aged 18 or over) or spouse, please submit the followings:
    • Photocopy of the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident Identity Card (BIR); for non-BIR holders: photocopy of applicant’s valid travel document or valid document for entering Macao and documentary proof of the connection between the applicant and Macao;
    • For non-BIR holders: an original complete set of applicant’s fingerprint impressions (Form for fingerprint – Boletim Dactiloscópico destinado ao pedido do certificado de registo criminal);
    • Original identity document of the representative of the application;
    • Documentary proof of the kinship (if the relevant data is not archived at Identification Services Bureau);
    • Documentary proof of why the applicant cannot apply in person, such as medical record.
  • Application made by authorized person, please submit the followings:
    • Declaration ( Samples can be obtained at DSI or from website <www.dsi.gov.mo>) (Authorization  for Certificate of Criminal Record Application) Any amendments, defacements or deletions made on the declaration should be affirmed by the declarant with a signature aside, and the signature should be identical with that on the identification document;
    • Photocopy of the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident Identity Card (BIR); for non-BIR holders: photocopy of applicant’s valid travel document or valid document for entering Macao and documentary proof of the connection between the applicant and Macao;
    • For non-BIR holders: an original complete set of applicant’s fingerprint impressions (Form for fingerprint – Boletim Dactiloscópico destinado ao pedido do certificado de registo criminal);
    • Original identity document of the authorized person.

Fees and Payment Methods

Fees:

  • Standard Service: MOP50.00
  • Express Service: MOP150.00
  • Applicants who are lack of financial capability due to following conditions can apply for exemption of application fees:

Payment Methods:

Headquarter (China Plaza), Macao Government Services Centre and Macao Government Services Centre in Islands: Cash, credit card, Union Pay “QuickPass”, debit card, Macau Pass and MPay are accepted for payment.


Processing Time

  • Normal application: 5 working days (Performance Pledge)
  • Urgent application: 2 working days (Performance Pledge)

Notes: Counting from the following day after DSI received all necessary documents, not including the processing time of postal.


Remarks/ Notes for Application

The Criminal Record Certificate is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

Collection Methods of service results:

  1.  In person
  2.  By authorized person:
  • The applicant can endorse the application receipt and sign according to the valid identification document in order to authorize a representative to collect the document on behalf of the applicant.
  • The authorized representative should present his/her original valid identification document and the photocopy of applicant’s identification document for verification when collecting the certificate.
